Health Update

So my health is a little haywire at the moment.
I'm still losing weight, but haven't really bothered to weigh myself in awhile.
I had a week off work after Easter, and it was great while I was on holiday, but after I got back to work I realised it probably wasn't a good idea.
1) I didn't drink enough water, so I'm now suffering from dehydration and;
2) I ate badly, so now my body is low on protein, so I feel tired and weak.
I've been trying to catch up on my water consumption and my protein consumption, but it's not really working... I'm either working on one or the other. Because of the size of my stomach, I can't eat and drink at the same time. So it makes it difficult. I have decided to work on my dehydration first, because I think that's the most dangerous to me at this point in time.
I've also ended up with a few rather embarrassing ailments, which I won't go into. All I will say it they're uncomfortable, annoying, and if they get any worse, it may involve a trip to hospital. So I'm keeping a close eye on the little bastards!

My mental health is having up and down moments.
Issues at work, have made my work environment very uncomfortable and volatile. So on my first day back to work I woke up with a very bad case of Vertigo, which I decided was either caused by dehydration, ongoing sinus infection, anxiety, or all three. Adding that to the work environment, crying babies, and PMSy work colleague, it made my first week back at work very hard. 3 at work panic attacks, and 4 after work panic attacks later, I made it to the weekend! Which so far has been great.
Yesterday I helped my mum with a quiz night, which involved me collecting money and being sociable with strangers. As someone who used to suffer from social anxiety disorder, I was so proud of myself. I even stood in front of everyone and spoke! YAY!

I'm looking forward to next weekend. It's a long weekend, it's the 100th anniversary of the battle of Gallipoli in WW1, and my town is going all out. First most of the soldiers who went to Gallipoli, Albany was the last place in Australia they saw. Monday is a public holiday, and I have a doctors appointment in Perth on Tuesday, so YAY 4 day weekend! I'm also getting a tattoo in Perth, as well as getting to spend sometime with my friends, so I'm very excited.
I'm excited about my doctors appointment as well, because I'm seeing the Bariactric Surgeon, I haven't seen him since August, he was the one who decided if I was suitable for surgery, and the one that told me all the scary truths about my life, i.e. that I was a couple of months away from Diabetes, I had high cholesterol, and probably wouldn't of made it to age 40! So I'm very excited to see what my blood work says.

My mini health goal for this week is to drink 2L+ of water a day!

Hope everyone else is well.

Liebster Award

I've been nominated for a Liebster Award by my newest penal Rosa (check out her blog, she makes awesome gingerbread masterpieces!)
Here are the rules :)
1. Mention the person who nominated you on your own blog and link them.2. Answer the 11 questions chosen by the person who nominated you.
3. Nominate and link 5 to 11 more blogs you like who have less than 200 followers.
4. Create 11 questions for your nominees.
5. Let your nominees know!
– What is the (current) soundtrack of your life? Billy Talent... The playlist is 28 songs long, 6 are non-Billy Talent... and 6 are the same song!

– What are your top forty-five favorite films? Just kidding. Kinda. Let’s go with: what are some of your favorite films? Labyrinth, The Princess Bride, Lord of The Rings Trilogy, Harry Potter (all of them)

– Spirit animal, fictional character edition; who would be yours? This is a hard one... it's probably a mix of Tina Belcher from Bob's Burgers, Pippin & Merry from Lord of the Rings, Arthur Dent from Hitch-Hikers Guide to the Galaxy, with a little bit of Hermione Granger

– Where would the Hogwarts Sorting Hat send you? Slytherin, but I'm one of those non-evil Slytherin (YES, they exist!)
– If you could travel anywhere in time and space, where would you go? I would love to go back and hang out with Douglas Adams, which wasn't even that long ago (he passed away in 2002) just to chat about his books, his friendship with the Monty Python boys, and just generally have a laugh!
– If you were a Pokémon, which one would you be? I don't know any Pokemons, well except Pikachu... is there one called Mew???

– What are your top five favorite books?
1. The Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams
2. Ready Player One by Ernest Cline
3. Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows by JK Rowling
4. Harry Potter & The Prisoner of Azkaban by JK Rowling
5. The Princess Bride by William Goldman

– Pick a fictional pet. Buckbeak, from Harry Potter

– Which actor would you hire to portray you in what will undoubtedly be a top-grossing movie franchise about your life? Maisie Williams can play young me... and Liv Tyler can play older me :D

– If you belonged to a(n unknown) Westerosi noble House, what would your words be, and your coat of arms look like?
I found this completely by chance one day and thought that it would be an awesome Westerosi coat of arms! Its by Helloheath on Society6, check out her work... it's AMAZING
I don't know if my words would be those words... I was thinking more, Cunning, Wit & ....... something else, I just can't seem to find to fit!
– Do you have a blogging goal you hope to achieve? Just more consistency with blogging and content. It's just a hobby, so I never really expect to make any money from it, but if the chance arises :D

I nominate:
Megan @ Peach Sponge
and anyone else interested - I know that's a copout, but I seriously don't know anyone else that hasn't already been nominated by someone else :D

- What's your favourite girls name?
- Share a yummy easy recipe.
- If you could safely visit any planet in the solar system, which one and why?

Things I Love Thursday

I'm in love with Billy Talent... again... but always!
I have loved them for many many years!
And like your favourite bands, they sometimes just fall to the side, while you listen to the new music of new artists, but eventually you find your way back to them!

I recently discovered they had released a "Hits" CD (I say CD, but seriously, I haven't bought a music CD in 5 years!), but since I have ALL their albums, I ignored it... until I realised there were 2 NEW songs! OMG! I downloaded them straight away and haven't been able to stop listening to either... but especially...

Chasing The Sun - it's a sad song, written for one of the extended Billy Talent family who passed away recently :( I love how Ben and Ians' voices compliment each other in this song!

So now... my playlist has this song in it 6 times... as well as the rest of my favourite Billy Talent songs. Of 28 songs... there is 6 that aren't Billy Talent! It's the best. playlist. ever!

I would really love for Billy Talent to come back to Perth, Australia on tour! I saw them in 2009, they were amazing! I would really love to see them again!

If you listen to Billy Talent, what's your favourite song?? If not, recommend me an awesome band for me to check out! I'm always looking for new music!

April/May Goals

I've been seeing a lot of goal related posts on bloglovin from some wonderful bloggers.
I attempted posts like this before and failed... but I guess that's what goals are for.

I have decided to set goals for 2 months at a time, and then review them. Let's see how long this lasts :)

Post a review of my new backpack. While researching backpacks, I found one that I really loved, but when I looked for reviews, I found only one. It was a good review, but didn't show much detail about the packs. I would like to post a detailed review of my new backpack.

Ride to work, at least 5 times. I have stupidly signed up for a fun raising bike ride. 115km over 2 days in June, and at this point in time, there is no way I can do it. I need to do some more riding, and get my fitness up.

Try not to stress over small stuff... like travel, work, life in general. Easier said, than done! Work has been a little stressful, and I have a very busy, quick trip to Perth at the end of April, that I'm a little stressed about. As well as another trip to Perth in May. Since I'm saving up for my trip to NZ, I don't have much money to spend in Perth etc.

Tattoo. more information coming soon!

Not many goals for the next 2 months, I will add more as I think of them.

What are your goals for the next 2 months? Let me know in the comments (if the comments are working... I've had some people say they're a little buggy!)

Flight to New Zealand booked!
Flying Perth to Melbourne, 3 hour stop over, than Melbourne to Christchurch. I leave Perth at 11.45pm, get into Melbourne at 6.10am, fly out of Melbourne at 9.30am, and arrive in Christchurch at 2.30pm. It's going to be a long day!
New Zealand, here I come!!

Passport

My passport has arrived.
It took me 3 tries to get it, I'm so glad that it's here.
It's one less thing for me to worry about!
It's a pretty amazing look book.
Considering what you can do with it, and what you can't do without it!
I don't like my passport photo (but who does)
The next step in my big adventure planning is flights.
I have decided to purchase my flight to New Zealand first.
Contiki need to know when I fly in ASAP, and I'm not 100% sure when I'm planning on coming home yet... if I stay an extra couple of days in Auckland, or just fly straight home.
I was going to fly direct to Auckland, then to Christchurch, but have discovered it's cheaper to fly to Christchurch via Melbourne. So that's the plan.

I'm still having trouble deciding on checked baggage or not. There are pros and cons to it. Pros - more space for stuff, Cons - having to carry it around. My flights include luggage... so maybe I can just check luggage on the way home instead. I don't know, it's one of the ultimate travel questions!
I think I mentioned that I did a mock-pack and failed miserably :( I got in most of my clothes... but that was it, not toiletries, no extra stuff... Do I buy a bigger backpack? Do I pack less? I'm worried that if I get a bigger backpack, it will be too big for carry on. My Crumpler ASO Outpost, is the right size for carry on, but just not big enough for all my stuff! Do I want to be the girl who wears the same clothes everyday? {20 Packing Light Benefits}

Good thing I have a couple more months to figure this out :)
