TRIBBLES

I was going to withdraw from my interior design course today. I had a sad, and am doubting myself, whether I'll be able to finish, but then I decided "NO I CAN DO IT!" So I'm going to get over myself and do some work this weekend. I have 5 days off. I was going to go to perth, but I'm not anymore, so I'm just going to stay at home, spread myself out on the kitchen table and do some serious work.

I ordered a Tribble from Think Geek yesterday. For all those that do not know what a Tribble is... shame on you! Tribbles are fictional animals (which are neither male nor female) in the Star Trek universe who first appeared in the episode titled "The Trouble With Tribbles". They are depicted as small, soft, and gentle, and as producing a soothing purring sound.
I ordered a small one (I think the same size as the one in Kirks' hand above) It will come in a random shade of brown, grey or black... I hope I get a grey one. If you want to spend un-necassary money... go to Think Geek. DO IT! I dare you! But don't say I didn't warn you. :P

I'm so close to having a full time job it's not funny. I'm not allowed to say anything about it, because it's a secret, and the job is being created JUST FOR ME! I'm so excited, it's such an interesting area to work. I really hope it all works out. WISH ME LUCK.

That's all for today. Going to watch the Academy Awards tonight, even though I know who wins. I'm still going to watch it. :D

Photobucket

And the Oscar goes to...

... Shaun Tan won best animated short at the Academy Awards. GO PERTH BOY. If you haven't seen it, get a hold of The Lost Thing, it's so sweet and cute.
Shaun is so teeny :D That's another oscar to add to a home in Perth. Perth is doing pretty well. I'm also glad that The Social Network didn't win best picture... I think the only award they won was best Adapted Screenplay. Colin Firth finally got his Oscar, and Natalie Portman won best actress for her role in Black Swan. The King's Speech took most of the awards. Best Original Screenplay, Best Actor (Colin Firth), Best Director and Best Picture. I'm going to have to go see it.

Meet Gerard

I finally won an eBay auction. Remember how I mentioned I was bidding on 10 different cameras? Well I lost all but ONE. This one....
Kodak Instamatic 277x with three rolls of 126 film. How Much? $2.25 plus $8.30 postage and handling. Emma has named him Gerard, and I think that suits him, so Gerard it is. I'm hoping the film is still good, so I can take some snaps. Then the trick will be finding someone who can develop 126 film (I'm sure there is some in Perth)

From now one, I'm going to bid only on cameras that take 35mm film (that's what is still around). I'm still excited about this one.
But after all this. I'm going to stock ordering things until we've moved house. I don't want to lose anything in mail.

About Me.

me.
I'm 24 (yesterday a women was very shocked when I said I was 24, she thought I was 19). I love with my dad and two little sisters. Mum is still around. She moved out in November last year, because she decided that she didn't want to be married to my father anymore. This resulted in the house I've lived in all my life to be put on the market (with both my mother and father stating "it will take at least 6 months to sell") 17 days after going on the market it sold. Lucky for us, the new owners aren't moving in until April, so we have some time to find a new place. Which we have, kinda... We are waiting on the bank to see if dad earns enough to give him a loan. An optimist would be positive that everything will be okay... I'm a "realist" I know dad is on the low end of the earning scale, but I also think it will work out okay... sometimes, I have my emo moments. But I had emo moments before all this happened.

I work 2 paid jobs (Blockbuster as a "film guru" and Target as a "door bitch" and "checkout chick") and 1 volunteer job (Albany and Regional Volunteer Service as "the Agency Bitch"), but still don't seem to earn enough money to do anything. I've never been good at saving, never done a budget, and for someone that considers herself organised.... I'm not really.

I'm overweight... the technical term is "morbidly obese" which scares the bejebus out of me. My "goal weight" is half my weight. It's hard. Somedays are better than others, but my life is in limbo at the moment, between houses, emotional breakdowns, too much work... I just don't know. It will come. I'm young, there are people who are overweight all there lives and never even consider trying to do anything about it.

I've never been in a relationship... EVER! I blame my weight, but there are heaps of people, who are bigger than me that are in stable relationships. It's all about self confidence... which to me... equals ZERO. Online me, and Offline me are 2 completly different people.

All my good friends live in my computer :)

And this is me. As so NOW. looking a little red (I always have red cheeks... I blame my mother) and my room is looking a little messy. (that's because I'm half packed. My aunt came into my room this afternoon and said "you haven't started packing yet?" but I have... I've packed heaps.... it just seems to be NEVER ENDING!

Things I Love Thursday - quick edition

Something About Us by Daft Punk. I love the lyrics "I need you more than anything in my life, I want you more than anything in my life, I'll miss you more than anyone in my life, I love you more than anyone in my life" - ROMANTIC ROBOTS = LOVE
New Dress - From Target, marked down to $15 from $59. I may post pictures, may not.

I might be getting the master bedroom in the new house. Dad said that he only needs a bed, and will be happy to have a smaller room. It does put all my plans OUT THE WINDOW, but it's not that bad, because the built in wardrobe in the Master Bedroom, has a dressing table, which I might be able to adapt and use as a computer desk.

Ben (from Billy Talent)s' new hair...
... it's HOT!

That's it. I told you it was quick. But I hadn't done a Things I Love Thursday in ages. So it was about time I did one.

What in the world?!

I'm still in shock over the Christchurch earthquake. I have some online friends there. Luckily they're all still quite vocal on Twitter, so at least they're okay, but 65 DEAD (so far) it's crazy.
Christchurch Cathedral is pretty much done for. I don't think it will be saved :(
My sister and I are planning to go to New Zealand next year, and I really wanted to see the Cathedral, but that may not happen :(

Also my Tumblr dashboard is full of posts about Libya. Stupid "if you don't reblog this, you have no souls" posts. Which, for your information I'M NOT REBLOGGING. It's not that I don't care, I do, I'm not a heartless monster, but if I let it affect me, I'll become an (even more) emotional wreck. It's sad, it's atrocious what is happening, but I don't want to get involved, I don't want to "reblog" anything, and I certainly DO HAVE A SOUL.

Polaroids & More Room Talk!

I've gone crazy. I'm currently winning 8... count it EIGHT! ebay auctions.... all for different Polaroid camera. I don't know, or care if they work, I just decided, after finding my old Polaroid i-zone camera that I wanted to start collecting Polaroid cameras. They're all so pretty, one of them, which is from the late 60s, actually has film with it. Please note that the MAX bid for ALL of the cameras is $5.00 (not including postage... which will be what gets me)
They're just so pretty.

Tomorrow or the next day, dad will here from the bank whether or not we can get finance for our house, hopefully we can, I didn't think about how we actually have to get bank approval first :O then dad will pay a deposit on the house and then the tenants getting 21 days, so this time next month, we may be actually moving. I know I'm going to have to move, it's obvious, since our house isn't our house anymore, but it's quite exciting, how soon it will be. It's exciting, and scary. Still have a lot of shit to pack, but once it's packed, I'll slowly unpack it and hopefully most of it will stay packed. All the most important stuff is packed at the moment. I'm thinking about my room, but I don't know the dimensions and I don't want to over estimate it, because I know it's tiny, like really tiny. I've got the smallest room, because the other room only has a window that faces out into the games room and not to outside, and I NEED a window that faces outside. I'll survive. It may need a lot of crafty renovating, but I can do it. I'm checking out "small rooms" on ourbedrooms and also "dorms" for inspiration.

I'm seriously considering downgrading to a king single bed, but then I think, FUCK THAT, I'd rather have a big bed and less space, then a tiny bed and lots of space... less space, less mess... well I think, probably not it my case.

If you cant tell already, I'm terrified. Not about moving, just about trying to pack all my shit into a teeny tiny room.
That, as you can see is the extent (to my remembrance... and pro drawing skills) the size of my new room. TEENY TINY. The Robe has 4 doors and doesn't go all the way to the ceiling, which will be good because I'll be able to store some stuff up there. The person in the room now, has a TV at the foot of the bed (but it's one of those old fat TVs) which leaves about 20cm between bed and TV. I'm hoping to have my bedhead against the wall with the window and then pushed against the wall, hopefully leaving some space for a desk, which is the second most important thing (after my bed) Then I'm hoping to put my wall shelves up (which I have taken off my walls, even though they're classified as "Fittings" and thus, technically belong to the Gates', but I paid for them, so I own them, so I'm taking them. :P I'm going to buy some more, and hopefully have the whole wall of book shelves.

IT'S GOING TO BE OKAY. I'm still excited.
Anyway, goodnight internet world.

News & New Stuff

If you are a facebook friend, or follow me on Twitter you'll know that WE GOT A HOUSE. We actually got the house that we all liked and for $20,000 less than the owners were asking for. But that's all I know at the moment, because I haven't had any time to speak to dad in the last few days. Yesterday was very stressful. Dad put in his final offer and we waited. Kelly (the real estate agent) rang at lunch time and told dad the good news, but dad was feeling very unsure about it, he's worried he can't afford it, because he lost a day at his job, but I think everything will be okay.

ANYWAY NEW STUFF. First off, this new app on my iPhone called Instagram, that lets you take photos and add awesome old school filters to them. If you follow my TUMBLR you would of seen them. My best photo so far is this one...
I love the old school frame and colouring, plus PC is a supermodel when it comes to getting photos taken, unlike Cous Cous, who I chased around for an hour and didn't manage to get any good photos.

Jelly Bean is going well. I have entered a meaningful long term relationship with him. He's just so smart and sexy and drives me crazy (obviously, because I'm talking about a machine like it's a human being)

Anyway... new stuff. Just DVDs, but I've taken photos of them with Instagram, so they look pretty.
The Lost Thing. Animated short created by Shaun Tan. It came with a limited edition book with illustration by Shaun Tan. It's now one of my life goals to buy all of Shaun Tans' books, because they're amazing.
Pushing Daisies Season 1. This series is amazing. It's quirky, strange and lovely. The pie maker can bring people back to life with one touch, and the second touch kills them again PERMANENTLY. When the love his life, Chuck, dies, he's touches her. Now they live together but he can't touch her because then she'll die. The pie maker uses his powers to help his PI buddy solve murders.
It's a seriously excellent show, it reminds me of the Tim Burton film Big Fish. And everyone that has ever rented it from Blockbuster, loved it. (there is only 2 season, which is sad. But it's so good you can watch it over and over again)
Life Season 1 & 2. Reason for buying this??? Damian Lewis. I've only seen a couple of episodes, and it was on sale at Target, so I just couldn't resist (you know me)

So that's today for you. It was suppose to be my day off, but I got called into work at Target, which I didn't mind... more money. I'm feeling a lot less stressed now that we have a house to move into. I didn't like that period of not knowing where I'd be living next year, but now I do. YAY.

Anyway off to the bookstore to pick up some books and buy the new Frankie magazine.

Meet Jelly Bean

There he is... this is Jelly Bean (yeah I know... random name!) he's amazing, it's pretty much love at first site. He's everything I need in a man, he smart, easy to talk to, fun to play with.... and SEXY! Yeah I know.... I'm crazy (but all the best people are) ISSUES, just the glare problem, but that can be fixed by moving the screen... or even easier, closing my blind, and so becoming a total recluse. DVDs look okay, blown to full screen they're a little pixelated, but it depends on the DVD, Big Bang Theory season one was really pixelated and just bad, where Star Trek was fine, almost unnoticeable, so it depends on how the movie was produced. THE MOUSE IS AWESOME! Beyond awesome. I thought it would be a hassle to use, but it's quite easy... THE SCREEN IS HUGE. I can't have anything maximised because it's just too big, instead (like in the photo) I can pretty much have everything open and viewable at the same time.... Safari (internet), Twitter, Chat, iTunes etc. I have managed to transfer my music, but thats about it, but my external hard drive is connected all the time so it's not hard to access my information. I finally (after hours of playing) got my emails to work through iMail (or whatever it's called) haven't tried iCal, Contacts or any of the iLife series (wait I lie, I used iPhoto to upload the above photo to facebook, without even open the internet browser) I've installed Sims 3, which looks amazing at full resolution (except for the task bar thingy is tiny in the corner... and the controls are different to PC, so thats a little weird) and I haven't plugged in my iPhone or my iPad yet. but I'm about to plug in my iPhone and see what happens.... hopefully all hell doesn't break lose.

Still here. It worked, with no hassle at all. GO APPLE. I went into EB Games today and I was talking the guys and they don't like macs. LOL... what losers :P

It's HERE

Yep, thats right, after only ordering it 30 hours ago, my iMac is here and he's beautiful. I've named him Jelly Bean... not that he has anything in common with a jelly bean.... except how much I love them. The epic-ness of it all, if very overwhelming.... plus I have to go to work tonight so I'll have to leave him at home with my Dad and sisters. OMG! and it's too late to call someone to cover.... yes I've already thought about that. Pictures soon. The glass screen has major glare issues, but once the sun has gone down (and I've finished work) I'll take some photos for you.

BTW.... first post done on my iMac. Go Me! WOO!

Eli Roth says YAY!

So Albany Apple store couldn't order my iMac for me and give me a student discount. So I ordered it online this morning before work and when I checked at lunch time it had shipped....

YAY! so excited, so I'm hoping on Wednesday (when I get home from work at 1.30) it will be here! HOPEFULLY! Quite Excited. Gratuitous iMac interior design pictures...
Do you know what else is exciting? OVER 10,000 PAGEVIEWS since May 2010!

Watching "And Soon The Darkness" tonight. It has Karl Urban in it.
Everyone in the online world says it's shit, but it's Karl Urban so I don't care.

2 New Followers!

2 New Followers! YAY! Hey guys, I tried to follow your blogs but there was no links on your profile :(
Also, the packing is still going (obviously). As of Friday the house now belongs to Mr & Mrs Gates (or from now on to be known as the "Gateses") They're from Perth (like I previously mentioned) and they have 3 kids under 15.... (I think) We are staying here until they move down (at the end of the school term) which is in April. Tomorrow, hopefully, dad will go into the bank and they'll lend us enough money to buy that house we have ours eyes on (which I just learnt might not get ADSL... which means I may have to go wireless... which means back to SLOW internet.... PLEASE MAKE IT BE NOT TRUE) anyway, hopefully dad will get the extra money without any hassle... this, the whole mortgage situation, is the bit that is causing me the most stress at the moment. I know how hard it is to get loans etc, I also know roughly how much money my father makes, and I'm afraid it just won't be enough.... FINGERS CROSSED (AGAIN)
In other news, today I took down my pin board, and poster around my computer. Now it's just a very large purple wall of nothingness... except a Australian Sky & Telescope magazine calendar. (it has pretty pictures in it... pictures like this...)

The plan was to do more packing, but I've got a problem... no more boxes! But I'm doing well... I haven't managed to throw anything out yet. I'm so tempted to just chuck out some boxes without looking in them, they're been under my bed (unopened) for ages... I can't remember when.... but my stupid paranoid self is like "what if, down the track you need something from the box?" BUT I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT'S IN THE BOX! GAHHHHH!

Stupid box.

Who Are You?

I've stolen this idea from Briana at Rose Colored Glasses.... The Blogger Interview. By know you guys probably know heaps about me, but I don't know much about you so I've decided to hold a Blogger Interview to get to know you.

Here's what I think I'll need:
A current photograph of yourself.
Your blog, Etsy shop, or website info.

Answers to these questions:
What's your name? How old are you? (Only if you don't mind sharing.) Where do you live? Job, family life, living situation?

What inspires you? What are some of your favorite things?

What are your favorite hobbies?

How do you spend your days?

Why are you on Blogger? Do you have a blog, yourself?

What attracted you to MY blog? What do you like about it? How did you find me?

If you have an Etsy shop, or other online site, what do you hope to accomplish with it? What are your long-term goals, dreams, etc?

What are some of your favorite blogs, sites, etc. and why?

Anything fun you have to share about yourself??

If any of these questions seem to personal and you'd rather not answer feel free to pass on them. I won't mind. If you have something you want people to know that I haven't asked, again, feel free to add to this interview. I also appreciate any photographs you may want to add.

I think this could be really fun. To participate, just leave me an e-mail with your information at:

* It will be private. I will not pass any information on, this is just for my own eyes. I'm interested in what sort of people are reading my blog. If you don't want to email me, just leave a comment with your name, website (if you have one) and where you are in the world. That would be great.

I Bet You're Sick Of These.

Life is pretty sucky, but what else is new. I'm trying to stay positive, trying to stay happy and healthy... but sometimes, trying is a really hard thing to do.

I would really love to have a clean and organised room free from boxes and dust.
I really want to be in a new house... like now!
I WANT MY IMAC
I want to be in Perth with my friends. I'm thinking Freo Markets, IKEA, Comic Book stores, train rides etc.
I DON'T WANT TO WORK ON FRIDAY.
I want the weird dull pain in my right leg to go away.
I want to actually have some time to do some study...
It's RAINING!

I've discovered Charlieissocoollike on YouTube.

He's funny, and awesome, and Stephen Fry does the sign off...

I did successfully finish ONE QUESTION on an assessment that was supposed to be in on 2nd January, now if only I could finish the others. If I actually got off my arse and stopped wasting time blogging and actually did some work AHHHHHHHH! I'm stupid.... "I'll wait until I have my new computer" "I'll wait until I have my new room..." but that's just PROCRASTINATION is disguise!

I'm off to bed. I was going to do a Things I Love Thursday and schedule it for tomorrow (because I'm too busy to even think about it tomorrow, but I have a headache, my leg still hurts and I'm ever so slightly depressed)

Perth Supanova

Ianto and Spike will be in Perth for Supanova in June (I was already expecting this) But I'm super excited about Cary Elwes being there too. Westley from The Princess Bride. I'm so excited.
Westley is still my favourite boys name, and I DO plan on naming my son that, if I have any sons... hopefully... one day.
I hope he doesn't get sick. OMG Luke Perry is going too... I might ask him how he managed to get his name in the beginning credits of The Fifth Element, when he's only in the movie for like 5 minutes. Also Simon from Firefly... as well as Ianto and Spike... it's going to be very busy and expensive... may have to go both days... and this is only the first announcement. It still doesn't make up for the fact that Melbourne get SIMON PEGG and NICK FROST.
Dear Supanova. We want Simon Pegg and Nick Frost... or David Tennant, or just someone awesome. Ta.
