Epic Search For The Magicians!

My internet has been on the fritz :(
It makes me realise how much I use the internet during the day!
Today, I had the day off work (YAY) so I decided to head into town and do some jobs that I can only do on weekdays, like the post office etc.
I went searching for a copy of The Magicians by Lev Grossman.
I've heard so much about it and really want to read it... (it's been described as Harry Potter for adults) but don't want to download it, because real books are so much better! I went to Dymocks, and only bought What Does The Fox Say? children's book! Yes, you heard me right, they have turned the song into a book... the illustrations are amazing... but a little creepy.
I then head across the road to a local 2nd hand book store. I didn't find The Magicians, but I found a copy of Cloud Atlas... I was very excited, I've had it in my wishlist for ages!
I then walked up the road to try another book store. No luck there either, but they finally restocked their New Zealand Lonely Planet guides, so I purchased one, so now I can start planning some ideas for my trip.
Then I tried the library... they didn't even have Lev Grossman listed on their system! I was quite upset. So I walked back to my car and came home.

I tried to take some photos while I was out. I took one photo and my phone died :(
This is one of the many old churches in Albany. I realised today, while standing in Dymocks, how beautiful it is. It's asymmetrical, beautiful windows and beautiful lines. I've never been in before.

I want to learn how to use my DSLR camera. Technically it's not mine, it belongs to my sister and I, but she has a bigger share... but it's in my procession at the time. I found some ebooks to help. I should get it out and take some photos.

So, that was my day! How was yours?

Steven Universe

I started watching Steven Universe after it being recommended by an #IGGPPC pen pal. I watched the first 2 episodes, didn't think much about it, and continued on with my life... until recently.
I started following a few more blogs and one was posting nail art inspired by the characters. It was so awesome, I decided to have another try.
It's weird... Like Adventure Time weird, but considering it was created by one of the best Adventure Time writers Rebecca Sugar, it's to be expected. It's very hard to explain! There are 3 women, the Crystal Gems who protect the world from evil, they're Garnet, Amethyst & Pearl... and then there's Steven Universe (whose mother was a Crystal Gem named Rose Quartz) The whole idea of the series is Steven trying to figure out how his gem (inherited from his mother and located in his belly button) works, so he can join his friends and help protect the world.
I love the Crystal Gems.
Garnet is the leader, she's very serious, calm and collected. Her gem is in her hands.
Pearl is very passive, smart and dainty. Her gem is on her forehead.
Amethyst is cool, carefree and a comedian. Her gem is over her heart. She's so sassy, and always playing tricks on Steven... She's my favourite.
I was watching the series a couple nights ago and decided to tweet "Steven Universe is a strange, weird... but awesome tv show!" I hit send, and thought nothing of it, until....
I didn't think much of the favourite until I read who the person was! Michaela Dietz... the voice of Amethyst! I was so excited! I fangirled!
So if you're a fan of Adventure Time, you should take the time to check out Steven Universe. Rebecca Sugar wrote most of the Marceline episodes, so she really knows how to write awesome women... plus Steven himself is sort of adorable!!

Bedroom Tour [Photo Heavy]

It has been a very long time since I did a bedroom tour! This will be the 3rd (4th bedroom) place I've lived (in my whole 27 years of life) FIRST BEDROOM Tour HERE - SECOND BEDROOM Tour HERE - As you can see, not much has changed. (my bed still has the same blanket and cushion from 2012... LOL)
If you don't know already, I live with my mum and youngest sister in a rental... we had a rent inspection yesterday, hence why my room is clean enough to take photos :)
The view from my door. I think this room is similar size to my old room (but tiny compared to my first room) It's a very similar layout as well. Bed under the window, feet to the door (bad feng shui) and shelves to the right. As you can see I have a very "exciting" view... of a brick wall!
My favourite part (and most used) of my room! My desk. A lot of time is spent here. Blogging, watching Youtube, playing Minecraft and other games. (CAN'T WAIT FOR ELDER SCROLLS ONLINE)
My inspiration wall. Ever growing and changing. At the moment I want to travel! So there seems to be lots of travel related photos etc. Some paintings from the children at work and some quotes!
My Pop! Vinyl collection! Plus lots of other geeky awesome! I only get the Pop! Vinyls of characters I like (or get sent in Lootcrate and Nerdblock) I'm not going to buy all of them! I do have a very long list of ones I want though!
My desk... even after one day it's starting to get messy! I need to sort out these bottom two shelves!
The other window looks out to the driveway. I get sun through this window in the late afternoon! I love it! I miss having sun shining in my room all day, but I haven't felt claustrophobic yet. My curtains are just random pieces of fabric, because the blinds that were there fell down and started to break away (they were very old and sun damaged) I like these curtains because they still let the sunlight (and moonlight) shine in when they're closed.
Messy, unorganised side table. Nothing more to say about it!
One of my favourite items. My Nina Serena Sips print... signed by SIPS! 215 of 250! I love Nina Serena's art style and I LOVE SIPS!!!!
My Wardrobe. It's nice to have a proper wardrobe! I LOVE SCRAVES (as you can see) Also pictures in a Severus Snape print by Stewart McKenney, signed by him :D
And look inside... it's organised! My wardrobe is getting more and more full of floral! The top shelf on the side is all TEEs and there are still some Tees hung up! I have too many!
Le Shoe Collection... which is mostly Converse!!
My shelves. Back in force! Not much has changed! Still the same geekiness that was there before! Now just a tiny little bit more grown up... but not much!

Some detail photos! Click to enlarge!
I love books! Especially large art books from movies, tv shows and games! Some books I've wanted for years and managed to find eventually, some are just found randomly in shops! Some (like The Art of Tim Burton, cost me and EXTRA $70 because they made my luggage from Melbourne to Perth too heavy! But they're still completely worth it!)

Hope you enjoyed my room tour. If there is anything you would like to know, just send me a comment!

Military Grey

Military Grey

Military Grey by princessgeek86 featuring round throw pillows

I ordered this dress from ASOS
I've been using Polyvore to come up with some ideas of what to wear with it!

First is "Military Grey" (above)
I'm in love with the colours and designs.
Olive green, camp, boots, patches!
It's my favourite style at the moment!
Lucky for me grey fits in quite well!
Goth Grey

Next is "Goth Grey" (above)
I have A LOT of Black in my wardrobe.
When I was in highschool I went through the mild "goth" phase
I still have most of the good pieces I brought.
I love crosses, boots (again) and leather.

Neon Grey

Lastly
"Neon Grey" (above)
I don't have any neon in my wardrobe.
But I love how well grey goes with it.
Makes the neon POP even more!

Hope you enjoyed my post.
I'm going to do a few more posts like this.
And stay tuned for February's OOTD post (coming soon I promise)
