Lord of the Rings Genderswap Casting!

Genderswap Lord of The Rings casting.

YES! She has the right eyes and the right quirkyness :)

Urm... no... I don't know how a buff women could be right for a fat Hobbit :D

Don't know who this is. But she looks the part!

YES! I love Kate Winslet. She has the same grown up silliness!

Yep! Anne & Kate as Pippin and Merry would be amazing!

As much as I don't really like Keira Knightly. This is a good match

Haha! Yes. Love Geena. She would be perfect.

Wait.... but isn't she.... actually, she could make a really good Aragorn

Hmmmm.... I guess. It's weird thinking of him with Cate.

OH MY FUCKING GOD YES!

Don't know who she is. She looks really familiar! But yes!

Yes. Who is she?

OHMERGERD!

Yes. Would miss not having Karl Urban in the film :(

YES YES YES YES YES!

Don't know who she is. But she looks the part.

Cruella De Vil. YES!

Free Online Courses aka Constructive Procrastination

Curtain University have started offering free online courses. They range from Food & Nutrition, Psychology, Astronomy and Web Design.

They're about 4 weeks long. Some have already started. Some don't start until July.

I have enrolled in Writing for the Web - to hopefully increase my awesome writing skills and Astronomy: Discovering the Universe - which doesn't start until July, but I'm super excited about.

I know some of you may be rolling your eyes. I have so much anxiety about my current studies, why should I do something that will take up time etc. etc. But It's something constructive I can do while procrastinating, instead of playing Minecraft.

You can view the other courses available HERE

I assume it's open to everyone all over the world.

ULTIMATE DINNER PARTY!

Dinner Party - I stole this idea from Leah @ Just Me, Leah <-- click there to see who she invited
Dinner party time - Who would you invite? What music is playing? What are you eating? Is there entertainment? Let your imagination go wild!
Who?
Karl Urban
Alan Rickman
Sir Richard Branson
Peter Jackson
David Tennant
Neil Gaiman
Michael Palin
Douglas Adams
Bear Grylls (just incase we get stranded!)
JJ Abrams
Joss Whedon
Tom Hiddleston
Benedict Cumberbatch
Harrison Ford
Billy Talent (band)
Sips & Sjin (youtubers)
George Lucas
Tim Minchin
Liam Neeson
Aiden Gillen
Domhnall Gleeson
Tim Burton
Prof Brian Cox
Dr Brian May
Alan Davies
Stephen Fry
Steven Spielberg

I could seriously go on. It's more of a party then Dinner. I've probably missed some pretty important people.... and they're all MEN!!!! Probably should invite some women...

Rebel Wilson
Dame Helen Mirren
Liv Tyler
Zooey Deschanel
Anne Hathaway
Emma :)

Seriously I suck at remembering women I love! LOL!

What?

It would be oh so grand. :) I just love the idea of having an outdoor party. It probably wouldn't work that well in Australia in Spring or Summer because of the mozzies. But in Autumn when some of the trees are losing their leaves and it's cold, but still warm enough to be outside. (I would supply knitted blankets for people to wrap around themselves when it got colder, as well as a huge bonfire.

There would be a couple of Sofas and Rugs (yes outside) to sit on and cushions and blankets.

There would be telescopes set up and Prof. Cox would tell us about space, and Stephen Fry would be hilarious. Everyone would be relaxed.

We would probably eat roast meats and vegetables, something super yum but not overly fancy. For dessert there would be cupcakes and apple pie and custard. Sort of Mad Hatters tea-partyish. We would drink beer and cocktails and wine (not that I drink) and we would be merry and chat into the early hours.

Music wise, I would probably have to invite a band like Mumford and Sons or Flogging Molly, something nice and acoustic. Might try and get a piano out there somehow, so Prof. Cox or Tim Minchin (or whoever wanted) could sing a few songs)

There would also be Polaroid Cameras. Everyone can take photos etc.

This is pretty much what I want for a birthday party for myself or my wedding (except when I get married I want to be married by a Stormtrooper :D)

Who would you invite? What sort of party would you have? Leave a comment or post a blog (but please let me know so I can check it out :D)

Bye-ee!

What would you like to read about?

Why do I feel like I want to be "internet famous"
I want more comments, more followers just more.
But then again I don't.
I love my blog but wish it was more structured.
Less of a personal diary and more of something that people would love to read.
But I don't know what I want to write about.

What do you want to read about?
Movies
Music
Books
or do you like the way my blog is?

If I was more organised it would be better.
But Procrastination is my closest friend.

It took me ALL DAY to clean down my desk!
BEFORE
AFTER
I did, however, find my Tamagotchi.
GO ME!

I realised that I haven't shown you the other Harry Potter wands in my collection.
You've seen Snapes and Scabiors
But I have Sirius Blacks, Fenrir Greybacks and The Elder Wand now.
I will try and do a post on Sunday.

Anyway.
Time for work.

I'm Such A Bad Geek

I'm such a bad geek.

I've only watched the first episode of Series 7, Part 2 of Doctor Who.
(but seriously, I heard that John Hurt is involved and I'm so fucking excited!)
I haven't seen any of Season 3 of Game of Thrones yet.
I haven't seen Iron Man 3 yet :(
(even though I know stuff about it)

At least I've seen Star Trek Into Darkness

I'm hoping that I get mail this week.
In particular Star Trek 1-10 Movie Boxset on Blu-Ray &
Season 1-3 of Original Star Trek series on Blu-Ray

And also Ludo.

I'm really enjoying Inferno by Dan Brown.
But it gives me a mega dose of Wanderlust.
It's set in Florence in Italy.
I don't know much about Florence, but I still want to go.

Today my Aunt & Uncle became grandparents.
My cousin and his partner had their baby.
A beautiful girl named
Lexi Marie
I can't wait to meet her.

Emma and I have decided to do a weekly "stay awesome" missions.
This week is our first week and the mission is:
"Imagine you don't have anxiety or any self-esteem issues and that you don't give a shit what anyone thinks of you or the way you look. What would you wear/look like... what would you do... what job would you have if you could be anything ever"
 Seems rather simple.
I don't know if I'll do a public post.
Depends on how I go :)

Anyway. Until next time.

Inferno by Dan Brown out tomorrow

Tomorrow Dan Brown releases his new book, Inferno.
It's the 4th in the series featuring Robert Langdon.
The first one being Angels and Demons, then The Da Vinci Code and then The Lost Symbol.
I love his Robert Langdon books.
I love how much research he does and all the information you get.
It's a fictional story full of real life things, events in history etc.
This one, as the title may suggest is based around Dante's Inferno an old book about the 7 levels of hell (and other things, but I have never read it)
The Australian cover (on the left) is so much nicer than the other.
I hope mine is the left one.
I pre-ordered it ages ago.
Hopefully I get a call tomorrow saying that it's in :D

I'm hoping it will inspire me to read again.
I hope I can get it finished.

I've been reading the Judge Dredd comics.
I have them on my iPad.
I also have the Star Trek comics set between the first (new) movie and Star Trek Into Darkness
plus the prequel to Star Trek Into Darkness.

Anyway.
Off to work.
Bye-ee

Supanova

I had decided that I wasn't going to go to Supanova Expo in Perth this year.
I was adament, even when they annoucned that Karl Urban would be going again.
But I need to save for PAX.
I can't afford it.

Then I got an invite to increase my credit card limit!
Which I know I should of ignored, but didn't.

THEN
Supanova Expo announced that there was 3 Dwarves from The Hobbit going!
Jed Brophy aka Nori, Adam Brown aka Ori & Aiden Turner aka Killi
How could I not go.

But accomodation in Perth is so expensive.
:(
But Alex asked her friend Kat if we could stay with her
and she said YES!
We invited her to Supanova (another Supanova Virgin!)
So as payment for letting us stay I bought her ticket!

I'm so excited.
I've got a Dredd movie poster from work that I'm going to get Karl Urban to sign!
I will probably just buy photos of the Dwarves, to get them to sign.

I don't know if I want photos or not.
Maybe with Karl Urban again.
But I don't know if I'm too fussed about the Dwarves.
Maybe Adam Brown, because Ori is my favourite Dwarf

There are heaps of other people going
but I don't want to get too excited because then it will cost lots of money!

Star Trek Into Darkness [SPOILERS]

This post contains spoilers.
If you haven't seen Star Trek Into Darkness, don't read... unless you don't care!
Then go ahead.

"Woah is me" Movie Weekend

I've watched a couple of new movies over the last couple of days. During my "woah is me" week. I've been sick and feeling down :( so I watched movies! Lots of them. Including 3 I hadn't seen before.

SPOILERS

Detachment - Adrien Brody is a substitute teacher at a school that is on the verge of closing down due to low scores and just general bad behaviour. It starts out like a documentary. Teachers telling the "interviewer" how much they hate being teachers. It follows Adrien's story. He's subbing for a month at a school. The students are disruptive, except for one. A larger girl, who loves art and taking photos. She gets bullied and her father doesn't like that she spends all her life with art. But the new sub is different, he respects her. There is also a side story with his grandfather, who I think molested his mother, which led to her suicide and a underage prostitute who he invites into his home and takes care of. Anyway, the movie was pretty harrowing. All ending in the Art girl committing suicide by making lots of cupcakes with smilie faces and one with a sad face (which is laced with poison) and ate it at school while everyone was there! YEAH! Not a light comedy. Definitely not one for the kids! The end was sort of Blah! But Adrien Brody is in it. :)

The Impossible - Based on a true story of the 2004 Boxing Day Tsunami in Thailand. A family on holiday gets caught up. The mother and one of her sons gets split up from the father and the two sons. The mother is seriously injured and the son has to get her help. It was distressing to say the least. The scene when the wave comes and washes OVER the top of the hotel! It just washed everything away. And the scenes when the people are underwater, being washed away and hit with debris. Horrible.
It was an amazing movie. Based on a true story. 230,000 people died during that tsunami. Whole communities wiped off the map (and never rebuilt). This one has a happy ending, they all find themselves together. But I want to know what happened to the other people they encounter through the film, are they real, did they find their families! I can't imagine anything like that happening to my family! It just makes me so distressed!

Shadow Dancer - After a failed bombing attempted in London in 1993. Colette gets caught by MI5 and  talked into going back to his IRA Irish family and leaking information back to MI5. I got this movie because it has Aiden Gillen and Domhnall Gleeson in it. I was so worried that Gleeson died, but he didn't. The ending sucked. They got into a car and drove away. That's it! Stupid ending. But Domhnall Gleeson is gorgeous and ginger and gorgeous!

You can watch them if you want. You should. Make up your own mind. I'm looking forward to watching more new movies. Hopefully I'll get to see Star Trek Into Darkness this week! :D
