Melbourne Day Four

Up late today, because we don't have to check out until 11am.
We check out and leave our bags at the hotel and also book the Skybus to pick us up at 5pm to take us to the airport.
Walk up Spring Street and have a nice breakfast at Excello.
We then walk along Little Collins Street towards Elizabeth Street. We stop at JB Hifi and then head up to Melbourne Central to go to the movies.
We see Toy Story 3, which was amazing and sad.
Then we head down Elizabeth Street and stop at Minotaur again! (4 times in 4 days)
Then we continue down the street and along Flinders Street towards Federation Square to take some more photos of the Tim Burton Exhbition signs.
We then head back to the hotel by Tram and get there at 4.30pm and sit and wait for the skybus.
The bus was late, at 5.20 we get in and it takes about an hour to get to the airport, luckily out plane doesn't leave until 8.10. Then we bum around the airport until it's time to board.
I love Melbourne and will miss it. =(

Melbourne Day Two & Three

Day 2
Had the best day ever. First up the Tim Burton Exhibition. On the way down to the exhibition we walked past the gift shop and I saw it, The Art Of Tim Burton. OMG I was so excited, I rushed in and bought it without even looking at the price (it was $89.95) it's huge and weighs like 2 kg, and I would be carrying it around the city all day, but I didn't care, I had the Art of Tim Burton book.

The exhibition was amazing, you walked down the stares to be met by a topiary rain deer (from Edward Scissorhands) and Edwards costume aka something Johnny Depp had worn. I can't describe everything I saw, it was amazing. My favourite thing was the Mad Hatters hat and costume. The details were amazing. All I can say, is if you can, go see it.
After the exhibition we walked across to Southgate for lunch. After lunch we went to the Eureka Skytower to go on the Edge. It was awesome, I've done it before, but the view from Eureka is always breathtaking, it was such a beautiful day.

The day ended with a shopping spree at Minotaur. Over $300 worth of comics and manga. :O.

Day Three.
First off today was the Titanic Exhibition at the Melbourne Museum. It was amazing, but depressing. Before you go in they give you a re with info about a passenger and at the end you find out if they survived or not, my passenger, Miss Annie Funk, died :( later on while I was reading the exhibition guide I found a photo of her, and a small paragraph that said that she had sacrificed her seat to a mother whose kids were already on the life boat. I was so sad when I read it.
After the exhibition we checked out the rest of the Museum, including seeing Phar Lap.
After the museum we went to Melbourne Central to do some shopping, I bought a 10inch laptop sleeve for my iPad and a awesome new canvas bag. We then went back to Minotaur, were I bought more comics :) then we walked back to the hotel, and that's where I am now.

Tonights our last night. It's sad but I'll be glad to be home. Goodnight from Melbourne.

Melbourne Day One

Flight left at 6.15am, so I had to be up at 4am to be at the airport on time. The flight was fast, at our fastest we were going at 900km/h. We got to Melbourne 30minutes early. It was 10 degrees celsius when we arrived and just got colder.
We checked in, have a nice room at Mercure Spring Street, with a garden view. And then we went for lunch @ Melbourne Central, then walked across to the Melbourne Museum for the Titanic Exhibition but there were no tickets, so we made our way back to the hotel. Since then we've bummed around.

Things I Love Thursday

It's Thursday! Guess what that means?
THINGS I LOVE THURSDAY

.Butterflies in my tummy, because I'm flying to Melbourne on Sunday.

currently downloading his albums (his one man band is called Coconut Records. It's very "indie" but I'm trying to expand my music horizons) I'm also going to attempt to watch The Darjeeling Limited tonight.

.rekindling my love for Ville Valo (mainly because of this photo).

.my new suitcase is packed. as soon as it was locked the butterflies in my tummy went berserk.
isn't it just magnificent?

.Australia's first ever female Prime Minister was sworn in today.

.making Chocolate Brownies.

Dear Ms Prime Minister,

I've never asked for anything from any politician ever, but was wondering, since you're the first ever female prime minister of Australia, could you possibly take Female Hygiene Products off the "Luxury item" list and hence not charge GST on them. Luxury Items my ass. You'd think that you'd already be making enough money from them, since every female between 15-50 (and maybe earlier and later) need them, every freaking month!
Anyway, that's all I want to say.
Oh yeah, Congrats. You better not fuck it up. =D

Curious Wednesday

Questions from Gala Darling (she has Curious Tuesday, but because she's in USA, so I don't see the post until Wednesdays)

1. If it was your birthday tomorrow, what would be on your
I know this may sound a little self centered, but if I could have anything tomorrow, I would want to wake up weighing under 80kg. I know it's not going to happen over night, but it was a hypothetical question.

2. Do you look after your nails? Do you paint them? If so, do you have a colour that you keep returning to again & again?
No. I bite and pick at my nails. I hardly use nail polish, because I end up picking at it and it looks messy.

3. What star sign are you, & do you think it is accurate?
Scorpio, and I'd say so. Sometimes yes, sometimes not.

4. What is something you have recently learned to appreciate?
Relaxation. And turning off my brain when I go to bed.

5. What is your favourite city in the world, & why?
I love Albany (yes, it's a city, I was there when it officially became a city) but I love Melbourne. Only been there once, (and heading there again on Sunday) but there is something about it. I think it's the similar weather to home, and the culture is more art and music, as opposed to Perth, that too me seems more beachy. I don't know, I'll let you know when I get back.

... too cold to post anything interesting today. Dad told me, that I should be outside, because it's the same temperature as what is being forecast for Melbourne while I'm there. if that's true.... I'm fucked, because it's FREEZING!
All I've managed to do today is hit the reblog button on Tumblr. (I just passed 1000 posts)

Crash and Burn

When you feel all alone
And the world has turned its back on you
Give me a moment please to tame your wild wild heart
I know you feel like the walls are closing in on you
It's hard to find relief and people can be so cold
When darkness is upon your door and you feel like you can't take anymore

Let me be the one you call
If you jump I'll break your fall
Lift you up and fly away with you into the night
If you need to fall apart
I can mend a broken heart
If you need to crash then crash and burn
You're not alone

When you feel all alone
And a loyal friend is hard to find
You're caught in a one way street
With the monsters in your head
When hopes and dreams are far away and
You feel like you can't face the day

Let me be the one you call
If you jump I'll break your fall
Lift you up and fly away with you into the night
If you need to fall apart
I can mend a broken heart
If you need to crash then crash and burn
You're not alone

'Cause there has always been heartache and pain
And when it's over you'll breathe again
You'll breath again

When you feel all alone
And the world has turned its back on you
Give me a moment please
To tame your wild wild heart

Let me be the one you call
If you jump I'll break your fall
Lift you up and fly away with you into the night
If you need to fall apart
I can mend a broken heart
If you need to crash then crash and burn
You're not alone

Tunesday - 22/06/10

Last night, on the drive from Arthur River back to Albany (see previous post) My sister Alex and I, got the old music playing, which inspired me to do today's Tunesday on:
They are the ONLY Australian band I ever really loved, and I mean loved... knew all the songs names, all the lyrics and pretty much everything to do with the 2 members (especially Darren (right) the singer, who I wanted to married, funnily enough, in the end he ended up announcing he was gay, but I still wanted to marry him)
The first song I heard was Truly Madly Deeply, and unless you've spent the last 15 years living under a rock on Mars, you would of heard it too (probably at someone's wedding, or on Valentines Day).

Two other songs off their first album (Savage Garden, 1997) I love are:
To The Moon And Back (first Savage Garden video I ever saw. I remember waking up early on a Saturday morning at my friend Cassie's house to record it, so we could re-watch it over and over)

I Want You (I used to know all the words and sing it along with him, not anymore. Not sure what I'm talking about, watch the clip)
"Chica Cherry Cola" =D

I was in year 8 when their second album (and the last), Affirmation (1999), was released, and it practically saved me. High School was hell. But Savage Garden got me through. This song in particular
Crash and Burn
even listening to it now, makes everything seen that little bit better.

Other songs from Affirmation that I loved.
The Animal Song (The music video has clips from a movie called The Other Sister. I have seen it, but can't remember it, but can't seem to find it anywhere)

I Knew I Loved You (no embedding sorry. The music video has Kirsten Dunst in it. I love her)

I hope you enjoyed that blast from the past. I did.

The Emma Invasion

The Emma Invasion came and went very quickly. But it was still awesome. Imagine the awesomeness it would of been, if I got to spend more time with the marvellous Emma, but alas, it will have to happen some other time.
Here's what happened.
At 3pm I picked Emma up from the bus stop, and we drove home. After spending about 15 minutes looking around my room and threatening to steal everything, she got a phone call from home, her poor bub Abbey was sick and had to go to Hospital. Poor Emmy didn't know what to do, she wanted to go home to her bub, but didn't want to leave. I reasurred her that it was fine if she wanted to leave. After looking at Plane flights (which cost way too much) I offered to drive her half way to Perth, and she found someone to drive to pick her up. It was a fun road trip.
Emma, you're awesome and I hope that you pretty bub Abbey gets well soon, and I can't wait for another (more successful) Emma Invasion.

EMMA INVASION COMING SOON!

it's 10.41am. Emmas' bus gets in at 3pm and the house is still a mess! I'm the only one home today, so I can't even talk anyone else into helping me clean =( hahahaha

in other news. it's June 21st. The release date for the brand new (extra awesome) iOS 4 software for my iPhone. Problem is, it's not released until June 21 10am PST. It's currently June 20 7pm PST, which means I still have to wait 15 hours to get it =( stupid time zones. I want my iPhone to have folders and multitasking and camera zoom and home screen backgrounds now!!!

The A Team (1983)

Watched the first disc of The A Team last night. It was hilarious and completely awesome. I love Murdock. He's completely crazy, but maybe he's not. It almost seems he's only crazy so he has a place to live (ie a mental institution) and everytime the team need him, they have to go to the mental institution and put on some lie about how the government needs to do tests on him or whatever. Also found out that Dwight Schultz (who plays Murdock) also played Barclay in Star Trek The Next Generation and Star Trek Voyager. He wasn't in very many episodes, but he seems to be one of my most memorable characters
One thing I didn't realise, is there is a female in the team. A reporter names Amy Allen, who in the pilot episode hired The A Team to help her find someone. I don't know how long she is going to stick around, and I can see something between her and Face happening, some sort of romantic-ness.
Also George Peppard, who plays Hannibal, was actually Audrey Hepburns' love interest in the movie Breakfast At Tiffany's.
And Mr T is just awesome.

Things I Love Thursday

Still feeling a little stressed, but a little bit a retail therapy today helped. I finally stopped procrastinating and went in and got a new bra. I did it all, including the professional fitting, which was a little embarrassing, but hey, I just imagine all the other people she has seen half naked. And she was very very very nice, the only sort of people that you want when you're getting a bra fitted. I also bought some long black tights, new PJs, a long black knit top (I have a grey one, so I went back and got a black one too), Disney's The Princess and The Frog on Blu-ray and some magazines. I also bought some birthday gifts for my friends, a "Flapper Wig" to wear to a 50s Party, 50s style costume sunnies and a pair of costume "Geek Glasses". The dress I have for the party isn't very 50s, so I'm going to go 50s accessories crazy.

Things I Love Thursday.
The Princess and The Frog. first ever African American Disney princess, talking frog, trumpet playing alligator, scary voodoo guy, New Orleans. What else do you want?
Breaking Benjamin. Don't know much about the band, all I know is that their songs are good!
Matthew Reilly. Australian author. Major geek. finished Seven Ancient Wonders last night. Now onto Six Sacred Stones.
Packing Lists. my Melbourne list is truly Epic. It's probably too Epic.
Insects in Jars. I found a store in Melbourne that sells preserved insects. I'm going to try and get there when I'm in Melbourne and hopefully buy a preserved Scorpion.

Honorable Mentions. Kinder Surprises. Free RockSound Stickers. Green nail polish. Food shopping with mum. Gerard Butler. Princess Tiaras. Wigs. Plants v. Zombies. One Hundred Trillion Dollars. Rainbows. Great Movie Anticipation (Kick-Ass. Scott Pilgrim vs. The World. Predators. THE A TEAM). Magnum Gold.

Venting

I'm stressed, I'm freaking out. The next couple of weeks are going to be crazy. And I think I'm getting sick. I can't get sick I'm going to Melbourne in less than 2 weeks. I CAN'T GET SICK. I'm over going to Supanova, since everyone I was even remotely excited about seeing is not going anymore, I'm over choosing the Perth to Melbourne flight that leaves at 6.15am. And I'm not really that excited about being up at 3 am in the morning 2 days in a row. I'm super excited about Melbourne, but I can't wait to get home after and just relax. Traveling has always been stressful for me. I'm always left to organise everything and I like to be in control, and when I'm not I get uptight. I've never traveled with my friend Tahlia before. I'm excited about it, but I don't know how she travels (for example, is she like me and needs to stay in control, or does she just go with the flow?)

It's so freaking cold tonight. But my face is red and hot. I hope it's not a fever. I know I'm having sinus trouble again, but I always have sinus trouble.

I'm over facebook, and twitter and social networking in general. I'm over people talking to me like I'm an idiot, I'm over customers complaining when THEY are the ones that caused the problem in the first place. I'm over fast food and there not being anything in the house to eat, but I'm also over food shopping. I'M FUCKING OVER PMS! Stupid being a women and shit.

Venting is good. I know for a fact that all that above me, was PMS. But I hate it. I'm just going to sit in my room and cry. ='(

Bye

Movie I Must See - Scott Pilgrim vs. The World

SCOTT PILGRIM VS THE WORLD
Directed by Edgar Wright (Hot Fuzz & Shaun Of The Dead. Starring Michael Cera (can't stand him), Chris Evans (YAY!) & Jason Schwartzman (FUCK YEAH!) plus many more. Based on graphic novel series by Bryan Lee O'Malley (which I haven't read, but am going too as soon as I can find them)

So Michael Cera is in it (BOO HISS!) but the fact that Jason Schwartzman is in it, pretty much makes up for it, then add Chris Evans... and I'm there! Check out their posters.

So Scott has fallen in love with Ramona, but in order to date her, Scott will have to defeat Ramona's 7 Evil Ex's (including a women). Schwartzman & Evans play 2 of Ramona's Evil Exs. It's a mixture of awesome music, and comic book style fight scenes, with flame swords and secret voodoo powers. Don't believe me, check out the Trailers.

Tunesday - 15/06/2010

Dream On - Matthew Morrison & Neil Patrick Harris
Neil Patrick Harris can hit the most Epic high notes.

Soaked by Adam Lambert (written by Matt Bellamy)
I'm not a big fan of Adam Lambert, but I love this song. Obviously, at first, it was because it was written by Matt Bellamy, but now I just realise it's an awesome song.

I Will Not Bow - Breaking Benjamin (fan made District 9 video) (District 9 spoilers) if you haven't seen District 9, you can watch the Official Music Video here, but I like the District 9 one better.
Breaking Benjamin is just one of those bands that I love, but not really. I don't own any of their albums but I have a couple of their songs, and their songs are awesome. Huge, inspiring rock songs.

Speaking of Tunesday.
Guess what arrived in the mail today?

True Story

YAY!

2 weeks until the Tim Burton exhibition.
1 week until the Emma invasion.

Tonight I start the "official" packing list for Melbourne Trip. When I put pen to paper, that will be when the excitement starts. MELBOURNE in the winter!!!! I'm so excited. I have my rainbow umbrella (even if its a Gossip Girl one) that I got for free with DOLLY magazine, so I'm set. (yes, because all I'm taking is an umbrella... hahaha)

I need new music, so I'm downloading the newest Glee album. It has a version of Dream On featuring Neil Patrick Harris. *squee* I love Glee, and I'm not afraid to say it.

Today

I downloaded Planets vs Zombies for my iPad, and it's awesome. It's addictive. This morning I played it for 2 hours. I will post some shots later. I also downloaded a MSN app, so now I can chat from my iPad.
I'm currently watching The Hangover with my mum. I love this movie, and I has a crush of Bradley Cooper. He's hot!!
I have work tonight. It's only a short shift, but it's still a night shift, so I'll have to spend 2 hours with no one to talk to except the customers. If I had a 3G iPad I could log onto MSN and chat, but that would be naughty and I'd probably get fired.
I ordered tickets for Supanova today. I'm not really that excited about it, probably because going to Melbourne is a little bit more exciting :) 2 weeks to go, and 1 week tomorrow until Emma comes to visit.

Look What I Found

I actually found my old blog. And it's still online. It's from May 3rd 2005 to March 1st 2007. I can't believe it's still there. The only problem is I don't know the password to get into it, because that email account was hacked, so I changed the password, and well, I can't remember what it was. It's quite fun to read it. It's reminded me of some dates that I had forgotten.

I'm 2 days into my 9 day working week and I'm over it. I just want to go to bed and sleep until Melbourne (which is 2 weeks away, tomorrow) but then if I slept Emma probably wouldn't have much fun in Albany on her own.

Since finding out that Matt Bellamy wrote Soaked by Adam Lambert. I have listened to it 26 times.... in a row.

2 weeks tomorrow (at 6.15am in the fucking morning) I will be boarding a plane on my way to Melbourne. I'm planning on Tweeting the whole trip, so if you aren't already following me on twitter, please feel free to add me.... I'm so excited about Melbourne, and getting to spend the trip with my friend Tahlia. We are going to go shopping crazy. I don't think the fact that I'm actually going to the TIM BURTON Exhibition has hit me yet. I'm going to see costumes, actually worn by Johnny Depp, and I'm going to see drawings actually drawn by Tim Burton, and if all goes to plan, and all the dates are correct, there may be a chance we'll see/meet TIM BURTON is person =O
Tim Burton is my all time favourite Director and everything he has created, not just his movies, but his books are amazing. I hate the way people judge me when I say I'm a fan of Tim Burton. "Ohhh you must be a wannabe emo then if you like Tim Burton!" I want to punch them in there preppy faces! Just because I like Tim Burton does not make me "Emo". Anyway I have loved Tim Burton way before "Emo" was even a thing. Anyway.... there is pretty much no such thing as "Emo" anymore. I'm hoping (but not getting my hopes too high) that there will be Tim Burton merchandise, in particular the book "The Art of Tim Burton". It's only available online from America and the UK, and they both want $140 just for fucking postage. Apparently the book is quite quite large and very heavy, about 3 kilograms. So hopefully I will be bale to buy a copy in Melbourne, and then hope I don't go over the baggage excess =D

I'm off to watch the episode of Glee directed by Joss Whedon and featuring Neil Patrick Harris.... FUCK YEAH!

The A Team, Emma & Adam Lambert

I ordered MORE DVDs today. 6 to be exact. I'm so naughty. But I must have them, and they were on special. I ordered:
  • The A Team (1983) Season 1 Part 1
  • The A Team (1983) Season 1 Part 2
  • The A Team (1983) Season 2 Part 1
  • The A Team (1983) Season 2 Part 2
  • The A Team (1983) Season 3 Part 1
  • The A Team (1983) Season 3 Part 2
They were $14.95each. That's 3 whole seasons for under $100. Bargain?!?!
Just found out that Jordie, can't come to Albany =( I was so looking forward to meeting her, maybe another time. I'm glad that Emma is still coming. It's going to be wicked awesome. I can't wait. I'm going to have to go on a serious cleaning run. My room (the whole bloody house) is so dusty and messy.
So far this is what we have planned. Cinema on Monday night to see The A Team. Then on Tuesday, we'll go Op Shopping and exploring. Mum thinks we should climb the stairs at Mt Clarence, but I think, neither of us are pro enough to do that. I don't know what else we can do, but we'll think about it.

I just found out that the song Soaked by Adam Lambert, was written by none other than the amazing Matt Bellamy of Muse. I would do a Matt Picspam, but I think there is enough Muse/Matt pics in my blog at the moment. So here's a photo of Sharlto Copley as Murdock in The A Team. Can't wait.
Good night. Have a nice weekend. I don't know if I'll be around on the weekend because I'm pretty much working the next 9 days in a row so I can get some extra funds for Melbourne.
