Shameless Self Promotion

I've decided to get involved in 30 Days of Lists. It's really just a 30 Days meme, but the idea is to write lists about the subjects. I'm going to try and do the lists by hand and scan them and post them onto the internet. I paid my $3 for the formatted lists, which make it really easy to do the meme. I'm excited, but I think I'm going to wait until I'm settled in my new home before I start.

I was also contacted by Girl Meets iPad and asked if I wanted to be interviewed about my iPad habits. My interview is due to be published on the blog on March 30th EST (American time) but I will let everyone know when it's live, so you can all check it out.

I'm trying to get involved with more websites and blogs, it's really just shameless self promotion, but there is nothing wrong with that, but I think I should give back, so if you're a follower of my blog I will advertise your blog for FREE, all you need to do is send me a button, or post a link to buttons you already have and I'll add it to my Links page.

now all I need is someone to create some buttons for me.

About life, packing, tweens, going to the movies and internet free weekend.

So completely over my emo state I had earlier this week. Sorry about that, I actually lost a follower :(

Starting to get back into it. Life is starting to sort itself out. Still have no idea when we're moving house, I have a rough idea, but if that rough idea is correct, it's in 2 weeks time, which is pretty scary. I've asked dad, but he doesn't know anything about it either.

My work situation is getting better. Hopefully soon I'll be getting 25.5 hours a week, working 2 jobs. But I'm really unsure if I actually want to leave Blockbuster, but I really don't want to work nights or weekends anymore (and they're the only times I'll be available) I don't want to have to pay to rent movies :)

I started writing lists of things to do and organise. Like change of address! What a bitch that is going to be. And the packing is still pretty much none existent! But most of the stuff that still needs to be sorted are things I use day to day, and things that will probably get thrown out.

Just watched the music video for Friday by Rebecca Black. seriously, apparently she's the next "Justin Bieber" all I can say is. SERIOUSLY CHILDREN! DON'T YOU HAVE ANY REAL MUSIC TASTE? ARE YOU TONE DEATH? Wow... Just wow. My opinion, don't waste 3 minutes and 48 seconds of your life, just don't watch it. You've probably heard it played a bazillion times on the radio by now anyway. This chick makes Justin Bieber seem not that bad (yep, that's my official statement... There is now someone worse than Justin Bieber)

PICSPAM TIME

I might go to the movies tonight. I really want to see Battle: Los Angeles. It looks pretty epic. I wish I had friends that were actually interested in Sci-Fi movies... plus would actually pay to go see a movie at the cinema. "It's so expensive... blah blah blah... bitch bitch bitch" seriously $15? You don't HAVE to buy anything from the snackbar. You pay your $15 and go and sit down... that's it. You get to see a movie in the best quality, the only way you'll ever get to see a movie in that quality again is to pay 10s of thousands of dollars to buy your own cinema setup. SERIOUSLY... $15! It's going to cost you more than that when you go to the pub instead and get so drunk you don't remember what you did. Seriously... and I'm the weird one because I want to spend "heaps" of money going to the cinema. Hmmmmmm! What ever!

Anyway. I'm going to try and have an internet free weekend. The plan is tonight fill my ipod with music and actually TURN MY COMPUTER OFF, instead of just putting it to sleep. And see how long I can last without my computer/internet. See you on Monday... or sooner, depending on how much fail I have :)

Who Are You?

I've stolen this idea from Briana at Rose Colored Glasses.... The Blogger Interview. By know you guys probably know heaps about me, but I don't know much about you so I've decided to hold a Blogger Interview to get to know you.

Here's what I think I'll need:
A current photograph of yourself.
Your blog, Etsy shop, or website info.

Answers to these questions:
What's your name? How old are you? (Only if you don't mind sharing.) Where do you live? Job, family life, living situation?

What inspires you? What are some of your favorite things?

What are your favorite hobbies?

How do you spend your days?

Why are you on Blogger? Do you have a blog, yourself?

What attracted you to MY blog? What do you like about it? How did you find me?

If you have an Etsy shop, or other online site, what do you hope to accomplish with it? What are your long-term goals, dreams, etc?

What are some of your favorite blogs, sites, etc. and why?

Anything fun you have to share about yourself??

If any of these questions seem to personal and you'd rather not answer feel free to pass on them. I won't mind. If you have something you want people to know that I haven't asked, again, feel free to add to this interview. I also appreciate any photographs you may want to add.

I think this could be really fun. To participate, just leave me an e-mail with your information at:

* It will be private. I will not pass any information on, this is just for my own eyes. I'm interested in what sort of people are reading my blog. If you don't want to email me, just leave a comment with your name, website (if you have one) and where you are in the world. That would be great.

Something About Us (or me!?)

I was lurking on ourbedrooms on livejournal and came across the post I did in December 2009... and well... pretty much nothing has changed LOL! My bed is in a different position, but I still have the same posters on my walls and everything is pretty much the same. I'll have to do one more post of this room, and then I get to do another post of my new room (could of been a whole house... but I'm not going to start that rant again :D) And do you know what I just realised... it's my OLD livejournal account! Speaking of LJ... I actually did a post today... the first one in 4 months. I really need to stay more active there... I think my LJ friends are scared of the internet world outside of LiveJournal. Just Kidding.... I LOVE YOU GUYS!

The new house owners are coming down this weekend, so I guess I may be told to clean my room. I admit it's a mess and really unorganised, but I really don't see the point, because in a month or two it's all going to go into boxes anyway. I might have a garage sale or something to get rid of some shit I don't need and get some extra money together.

I LOVE DAFT PUNK.

Yep coming from a self proclaimed "Emo music lover"
DAFT PUNK are awesome. And I HATE DANCE MUSIC. But it's not really dance music.
Nigel at work will be saying "I told you so" as he reads this... or his wife reads it out to him.... because I know it will happen.... HI GUYS :)

I do have Tron: Legacy and Nigel to thank... plus their helmets are just AWESOME! Seriously, what's not to love about men in awesome helmets who are good with their hands (speaking of course of their musical skills)
Enough about that.

Ch... Ch... Ch... Changes

this post is brought to you by "Changes by David Bowie" because no matter how hard you try, you'll never be as cool (or as awesome) as BOWIE!

I don't know how many of you have noticed, but a few changes are happening with my blog. I've decided that I was done with getting lost, and it was time to start acting more like myself.... a Princess, and of course, a Geek.
Things that have changed (for all you that read my blog through Google Reader, or RSS feeds):
  • New Banner.
  • New Layout.
  • and most importantly (and excitedly) new URL, and not just any URL, a custom one. You are now visitors to http://www.theprincessandthegeek.com. No more ".blogspot.com" and smooth sailing from here on in.
Today I decided to change. Everything. The way I think, the way I write, how I communicate with others, and of course my physical appearance, I'm done being stuck in the body, and since science hasn't come up with a way of transmitting all my memories and awesomeness into another body, I'm going to have to change this one. Stupid science, they can take photos of the Big Bang, but not create away for me to be transmitted into Agyness Deyns' body.  BASTARDS!
So these changes, come with a couple of Mid-Year Resolutions. Or new years resolution for all you Accounting types out there. And here they are:
  • be more social (online and offline) in other words, when your friends invite you out, don't make up some excuse not to go, then spend the night watching Star Trek or Spongebob.
  • Comments more. Because the more I comment, the chance of more traffic to my blog increases, because I will always check out the blogs of people that comment on my friends blog.
  • stop facebook stalking people you don't like, because it always ends in emo-ness.
  • Scribble more & stop buying Notebook (i need to use the ones I have first)
  • ORGANISE. BUDGET. REPEAT!
  • and last but not least.... EXERCISE goddammit!
  • oh yeah, and create a machine that will transmit my memories and awesomeness into Agyness (see above)
I'm also, going to stop posting a hundred million times a day (unless you like me posting lots (let me know)) and maybe post some more photos & the aforementioned scribbles. I tried the 365 photo project, but it lasts like 5 days and I forget about it. (GOD I'M TALKATIVE TONIGHT)
Anyway, enough rambling. I'm going to leave you with something NICE, and by nice, I mean hot, and by hot, I mean dirty, and by dirty, I mean SEXY. *girly squee*
he needs to be in my pants right now. (this isn't the whole photo, but I got sick of waiting for it to load so I gave up. But this is pretty much as sexy as it gets)

Molly Is...

... too cold to post anything interesting today. Dad told me, that I should be outside, because it's the same temperature as what is being forecast for Melbourne while I'm there. if that's true.... I'm fucked, because it's FREEZING!
All I've managed to do today is hit the reblog button on Tumblr. (I just passed 1000 posts)

Look What I Found

I actually found my old blog. And it's still online. It's from May 3rd 2005 to March 1st 2007. I can't believe it's still there. The only problem is I don't know the password to get into it, because that email account was hacked, so I changed the password, and well, I can't remember what it was. It's quite fun to read it. It's reminded me of some dates that I had forgotten.

I'm 2 days into my 9 day working week and I'm over it. I just want to go to bed and sleep until Melbourne (which is 2 weeks away, tomorrow) but then if I slept Emma probably wouldn't have much fun in Albany on her own.

Since finding out that Matt Bellamy wrote Soaked by Adam Lambert. I have listened to it 26 times.... in a row.

2 weeks tomorrow (at 6.15am in the fucking morning) I will be boarding a plane on my way to Melbourne. I'm planning on Tweeting the whole trip, so if you aren't already following me on twitter, please feel free to add me.... I'm so excited about Melbourne, and getting to spend the trip with my friend Tahlia. We are going to go shopping crazy. I don't think the fact that I'm actually going to the TIM BURTON Exhibition has hit me yet. I'm going to see costumes, actually worn by Johnny Depp, and I'm going to see drawings actually drawn by Tim Burton, and if all goes to plan, and all the dates are correct, there may be a chance we'll see/meet TIM BURTON is person =O
Tim Burton is my all time favourite Director and everything he has created, not just his movies, but his books are amazing. I hate the way people judge me when I say I'm a fan of Tim Burton. "Ohhh you must be a wannabe emo then if you like Tim Burton!" I want to punch them in there preppy faces! Just because I like Tim Burton does not make me "Emo". Anyway I have loved Tim Burton way before "Emo" was even a thing. Anyway.... there is pretty much no such thing as "Emo" anymore. I'm hoping (but not getting my hopes too high) that there will be Tim Burton merchandise, in particular the book "The Art of Tim Burton". It's only available online from America and the UK, and they both want $140 just for fucking postage. Apparently the book is quite quite large and very heavy, about 3 kilograms. So hopefully I will be bale to buy a copy in Melbourne, and then hope I don't go over the baggage excess =D

I'm off to watch the episode of Glee directed by Joss Whedon and featuring Neil Patrick Harris.... FUCK YEAH!

I Need Structure

I'm considering structuring my posts. For example. I already have Things I Love Thursday. I need some more suggestions. I was thinking of swiping Tunesday from Lick My Cupcakes and maybe I can have Movie Review Monday (obviously with an even cooler name.... and Fantastic Film Friday????) I want to maybe do a What I Wore post, but I'm a little self conscious =( and of course there will be a Sexy Man Saturday (or Sunday) as well as all the other sexy men, every other day.... which reminds me...

... my little sister, who likes every celebrity that i like, because she's a copy cat =P doesn't think Bear Grylls is sexy! SAY WHAT? you actually disagree with me for once =O fine I disagree with some of your celebrity crushes *cough* short stack *cough* *vomit* but come on.... BEAR GRYLLS
Tell me... if this man not a little teeny tiny bit attractive, or have I gone completely batty?

Really this post was just an excuse to get more photos of Bear Grylls on my blog. You can never have too many photos of sexy men on your blog =D

Sorry. I got a little side tracked there. Any ideas about posts would be great and much appreciated.

Hello Winter

Hello Winter, I've missed you!

My Once Upon a Concert Outfit set I made for this contest on Polyvore... WON! I came first. I'm very excited. I hope you like it too =D
In other news, I've gone Bear Grylls crazy. I have spent the last hour going on a right-click-athon, saving nearly every photo of Bear Grylls I could find. I'm addicted. I even rented Man Vs Wild today, and am even considering buying season 1-4 off eBay... but I'm not, because I NEED money to go away with. And since I haven't even thought about accommodation in Perth yet, I'll be going to Melbourne with even less money. Anyway.... I'm going off topic... BEAR GRYLLS...
YUM.

Have you noticed the Flag counter at the end of my blog? Someone from Finland visited my blog. I wonder if it was Ville Valo? I've had 48 unique blog hits since I put it on (which was only a couple of days ago) that's amazing. So if you're visiting and reading this, feel free to comment, you don't need a blogger account to post comments on my blog. I would love to hear from you.

I've started a new page. I was inspired by Nat @ XL as life! so I created a Scrapbook 2010 page, which will have all the movies/books/tv shows I watch starting today. My Movielist failed epically when i forgot to keep it up to date. My Bad.

What am I going to do for the next 2 days. I don't have work until Friday (which incidentally is my sister's 21st birthday YAY!) Maybe I will make her a cake (don't tell her!) I'm sure I will think of something. I might rug up and go adventure. Geek vs Wild!!!

26/05/10 <--- Today

Good afternoon.
Still iPad-less. But I expected that.
I bet you're over the iPad talk.
And here's me thinking I could of kept it a secret for the last couple of weeks.
I'm a little sad, because my internet has been shaped, so when my iPad finally does arrive, I won't be able to download apps until June 11.
I wonder if I can steal someone elses' computer to download apps.
Do you think if I install iTunes on the computers at work and download from there, anyone will notice??
HAHA Just kidding. I wouldn't do that.
Damn sister downloading Big Bang Theory =D
^ This is how I feel right now.
Pretty much the only thing I can do when the internet is shaped (apart from complaining about it) is blog, and that's because I'm constantly on this site, so it loads a lot quicker, and mr internet remembers.

It's my Grandfathers' birthday today.
I don't know how old he is (I'm a bad granddaughter)
HAPPY BIRTHDAY PAPA!

This picture makes me sad. Poor Rhino wants to be a Unicorn =(

Anyhoo, off to afternoon tea for Papa's birthday.
<3 Melissa.

Panic Attacks & Packaging

I had a panic attack last night. A real "wall are closing in, can't breathe" panic attack, brought on by the fact that I laid down in bed and was about to go to sleep and I couldn't breathe. I literally couldn't breathe, I tried to take a breath and couldn't I sat up and gulped and managed to get a breath, and then the panic attack started. I couldn't manage to get any air in probably and I was crying. I tried to call out to my sister but couldn't, I ended up knocking on the wall to get her attention and she got mum. It's only the 3rd panic attack I've had in my life. The first one was when I was little, about 8 and I was thinking about death, so I freaked out, the last one was a couple of years ago when I was trying to decide whether I wanted to continue working for a company that I just didn't feel very comfortable about (they ended up letting me go after my probation had finished anyway) and then last night. This one was the worst, and scariest, and I'm still feeling the effects of it now. My whole body aches, I guess due to the lack of oxygen, and my chest hurts (because I'm still recovering from the cold, and still coughing so that didn't help either) but mentally, I actually better.

After I calmed down I went to bed, with my pillows high and read for about 2 hours. I'm currently reading Seven Ancient Wonders by Matthew Reilly. It's so good. I've seen his books around, but avoided them because I'm not a big fan of Australian Music/Film/Books. But a couple of months ago Kerri-Anne did an interview with him and he was quite funny and witty, so I thought I better check his books out. It's like Indiana Jones meets Da Vinci Code. It's excellent and really really hard to put down. Once I managed to put it down I slept like a baby, until morning when mum walked in my room, poked me and asked if I was still alive. I moaned and rolled over, and slept for another 3 hours, then I rolled over onto something hard and plastic. It was a package. OMG iPad, but no it wasn't. It was from Samantha Wills. It was the bracelet I had ordered. In the newest edition of Shop Til You Drop there was a free $35 voucher to spend at Samantha Wills online store. I checked it out and found so many beautiful pieces of jewelry. And then I found it. The most amazing awesome bracelet ever. Well after the $35 voucher, it cost me $39, including postage and handling. And It showed up today... in a hand craved wooden box.

Handcraved box

Opened the box

The Bracelet

I love it. I can't wait to wear it out. It's so piratey =D It makes the most wonderful sound and the coins aren't all the same, so it's really interesting. But the wooden box. I think I love more than the bracelet. It's so beautiful, the design on the top is hand craved and it just feels so nice. It's really my first piece of designer jewelry. I'm so impressed with the packaging. I've always loved packaging (yep I'm getting weirder). It all started when I got my first iPod. Apple have always made unboxing fun. Hence why I'm planning an unboxing post when my iPad arrives.

That's pretty much it for today. I have made some more polyvore sets that I will post later on. The blog world has seemed to slowed a little. But that doesn't matter, because I will be here.

Titles Are Too Hard

I'm still sick.
I thought I was getting better but this morning I woke up and couldn't talk. Thank god All Mighty Guru said yes to doing my shift. I think I would of died. Considering I was asleep in the lounge room by 2pm.
I'm feeling sick and lonely. I miss someone I shouldn't be missing. Someone that was taken from me, didn't get to say goodbye or anything. Now she lives on the other side of the country and I don't know, I'm not her friend anymore because of other people taking her away and it's sad sometimes. I know I shouldn't dwell. I know if she was a real friend she wouldn't of been such a sheep and would of stood up for herself. I just miss her sometimes, in all her retarded glory. So if you're secretly reading this. I can only say one thing. POLYVORE.

Doctor Horrible's Sing Along Blog DVD arrived today. Too bad the reason I bought it pulled out of Supanova. =( but it doesn't completely matter, because it is AWESOME. I also started watching a web series called The Guild which has Felicia Day in it. It's so funny. Check it out for yourself online.

That's pretty much it for tonight. I'm tired and need to get drugged up of cold and flu medication and sleep now.

Time Machine.

1 year ago (May 10, 2009) No post for the 9th, But I did go see Star Trek @ the movies.
2 years ago (May 9, 2008) omg. it's embarrassing. Twilight *puke*

01 May 2010

1 month left of Autumn.

yesterday morning and this morning I got a call on my mobile from a blocked number. I don't know who it is because both times I was asleep. IT WAS 7am both times whoever rang.
I'm thinking it has something to do with either my Credit Card (I'm putting the limit up $500 to pay for my car service because I'm broke) or Apple Finance (because in the middle of my brain vomit I thought I would see if I could get finance for a MacBook online) If it is Apple Finance, I'm really not interested anymore. I'm over (new) technology at the moment. I need to start organising my life before I go out and spend $$$$$ on stuff I really don't need. But who the fuck calls at 7am on a SATURDAY morning, and then doesn't ring back at all during the rest of the day?

Anyhoo. Did 30 minutes on the Wii Fit and burnt 203 calories. I'm up almost a kilo since 2 days ago =O and I'm thinking (actually knowing) that I'm going to be heavier than I was last weigh in on Monday =( On Monday I'm giving up sweets again, mainly because I only made it a week last time, and because I lost 1.2kg that week.

So, the first of May. 1 month left of Autumn.

Sorry I haven't got around to the Frankie review. Don't hold your breath because it will probably not happen =( But I have created a new "page". The Things I Heart page. It's pretty much my 100 things I Love, but with more, and in order. I'll be adding to it and subtracting from it when ever I think about it. So enjoy.

19 April 2010

Perfect Day

What a perfect start to the week. First I've lost 1.2kg since last week (go me)
Then my floral sundress showed up in the mail.
The builder is here doing the roof for our deck, one step closer to my boxing bag =D
3 weeks until I can finally hit the pretty little iPad pre-order button.
And I'm just having a good day.
Went to Priceline (Cosmetics, Perfume etc.) and spent $50 on marked products (without realizing) and got a free gift worth over $150. A black tote bag full of make up samples and full size product.
Even over my sugar cravings.

Watched this last night. It's so pretty and camp. I love the trees in the forest and I love Silas Barnaby the bad guy. What an awesome name, Silas Barnaby. I'm so calling my first son Barnaby. Hence why I downloaded "Put On Your Sunday Clothes" from the movie Hello Dolly. (the song is also the first song played in the Pixar movie Wall-E)

OMG I've just realised I've passed 700 posts to this blog. That's a lot of blogging =D Even after I went through and deleted heaps of posts about people I don't want in my life anymore. I've passed 700 posts in a little over 2 years.

The builder just caught me dancing to "You Make My Dreams" by Hall & Oates. *head desk* I seem to be doing that a lot. Getting caught dancing and singing by randoms. But I don't care. This is my house, and it was my car. I don't care!

Neil Patrick Harris is in Season 2 of Glee!

Outcast Genius

Your result for The Nerd? Geek? or Dork? Test...

Outcast Genius

52 % Nerd, 70% Geek, 52% Dork
For The Record:

A Nerd is someone who is passionate about learning/being smart/academia.
A Geek is someone who is passionate about some particular area or subject, often an obscure or difficult one.
A Dork is someone who has difficulty with common social expectations/interactions.

You scored better than half in all three, earning you the title of: Outcast Genius.

Outcast geniuses usually are bright enough to understand what society wants of them, and they just don't care! They are highly intelligent and passionate about the things they know are *truly* important in the world. Typically, this does not include sports, cars or make-up, but it can on occassion (and if it does then they know more than all of their friends combined in that subject).

Outcast geniuses can be very lonely, due to their being outcast from most normal groups and too smart for the room among many other types of dorks and geeks, but they can also be the types to eventually rule the world, ala Bill Gates, the prototypical Outcast Genius.

Congratulations!
