December Daily - Day 14

Last night I watched Sex Tap with Cameron Diaz and Jason Segel. It was good, just the standard sort of adult comedy, it had lots of sex, lots of laughs and a lot of silly moments, but you could see something like this actually happening to some poor sod!

I then watched Lucy with Scarlet Johansson. IT WAS AMAZING! Within the first 16 minutes of the film, I knew I was in for a treat! It took me until half way the film to realise it was written and directed by Luc Besson (Leon The Professional and The Fifth Element (just to name a few of his awesome films!)) It was such an engaging film, and Scarlet is amazing!!! I highly recommend this one! (even if it ended quite abruptly!)

I went for another bike ride today. A little bit further this time. I almost rode into a ditch, but I managed to avoid it! I'm already planning to ride to work (which is only 800m away) but I'm a little paranoid about the traffic. I don't think I'm confident enough to ride on the roads with traffic yet.

I need to start planning some blog posts. I'm having trouble thinking of things to post about daily. I procrastinate if I have to plan something, that's usually why I just go with the flow. It's the same with my work and study. If I'm told to do this and this... I will put it off and procrastinate!! I'm seriously the worst! Like the fact I have 6 letters in my bag that need to be posted... Christmas cards going overseas, which will most likely not get there in time... They have been in my bag for a week!! And lets not get started about my study! So far behind! I'm useless!

My most played song today is: "Dear Darlin'" by Olly Murs

GOT & Music!

GAH! Alexander Siddig is going to play Doran Martell in Season 5 of Game of Thrones! I'm so freaking excited! I've been in love with him since he played Dr Julian Bashir in Star Trek Deep Space Nine! (he was my favourite character... please note I was 10!) I was so excited when I watched the Game of Thrones: Season 5 - New Cast Members video! It's going to be so cool to see Dorne and Oberons' children! So very excited for season 5... even if it will most likely lack The Hound!

The #SDCC news this week hasn't been overly exciting (but considering I haven't had much time to check much of it out) I'm sure as more and more gets mentioned over the week, it will get better! I wish I was there... like millions of other people!

I received a huge shock this morning while watching music tv... the video for Hopeless Wanderer by Mumford & Sons came on... and I was expecting to see the boys... not Ed Helms, Jason Bateman, Jason Sudeikis and Will Forte! I know it's almost a year old... but seriously almost choked on my breakfast! BEST. MUSIC. VIDEO. EVER!!! If you have't seen it... WATCH IT!

I love rediscovering bands. I loved Mumford & Sons when they first released Little Lion Man, but I seem to miss when bands release new songs and albums... so I forget about them... (I don't listen to the radio) But when I find them again! YAY New Music!

That's all for today. Please recommend some music for me to check out in the comments :D

Fashion Inspiration - Animated Girls

A few other awesome bloggers have been doing fashion inspiration posts, so I decided to do some for myself. May I present some of my favourite animated girls!

Turanga Leela
Turanga Leela
Turanga Leela by princessgeek86

Leela... the coolest one-eyed purple haired space pilot, from one of my favourite tv series of all time, Futurama. (I realised today that The Nerdy Girlie did a Professor Farnsworth fashion set... (check it out... it's AWESOME!!) I just want to say that I'm not copying your idea, I hope you don't mind!! I planned this post in advance... Great minds think alike :D)

Pinkie Pie
Pinkie Pie

Pinkie Pie by princessgeek86

PINKIE PIE - My favourite Pony... well I love them all! I love Pinkie's attitude to life, always happy, always friendly... I think she would be an awesome person to hang out with... if she wasn't an animated magic pony! WATCH VID!

Now to some of the sassiest animated girls!

Debbie Thornberry
Debbie Thornberry

Debbie Thornberry by princessgeek86

Debbie Thornberry - I have ALWAYS loved The Wild Thornberries. I loved Eliza, because she could talk to animals and was Nerdy, but still awesome, I loved Nigel... because he's just awesome full stop (Tim Curry!!!) but I always had a soft spot for Debbie I guess it was because I was probably around her age when I started watching... she was sassy and moody, and a typical teenager!!

Daria
Daria

Probably my favourite and the one I can relate too most, Daria. She was in my life during my "Goth" phase... and is probably the reason for it. I say "Goth" but it wasn't the full on typical Goth (because I went to a private school with light blue and navy uniforms) it was the self dyed black hair, the black eyeliner (which I would always have to wash off at school because of the no-makeup rule) and honestly... I think it was just because that was the phase my friends were going through and I wanted to fit in. I could go on for DAYS about how much high school sucked, but I won't, all I will say if Daria helped me deal with it :)

~~~~
Hope you enjoyed this post. If you have any suggestions for my next lot of fashion sets, let me know in the comments.
I also received a lot of feedback on my Geek Shelves idea. It has involved into a Geek Space idea, but can still include your favourite geek shelf (I know mine does) I will let everyone know more details as it comes... but start thinking... start taking photos... I think it will just end up as a quick "Show us your Geek Space" prompt for you to do on your own blog! Let me know :)
Steven Universe
I started watching Steven Universe after it being recommended by an #IGGPPC pen pal. I watched the first 2 episodes, didn't think much about it, and continued on with my life... until recently.
I started following a few more blogs and one was posting nail art inspired by the characters. It was so awesome, I decided to have another try.
It's weird... Like Adventure Time weird, but considering it was created by one of the best Adventure Time writers Rebecca Sugar, it's to be expected. It's very hard to explain! There are 3 women, the Crystal Gems who protect the world from evil, they're Garnet, Amethyst & Pearl... and then there's Steven Universe (whose mother was a Crystal Gem named Rose Quartz) The whole idea of the series is Steven trying to figure out how his gem (inherited from his mother and located in his belly button) works, so he can join his friends and help protect the world.
I love the Crystal Gems.
Garnet is the leader, she's very serious, calm and collected. Her gem is in her hands.
Pearl is very passive, smart and dainty. Her gem is on her forehead.
Amethyst is cool, carefree and a comedian. Her gem is over her heart. She's so sassy, and always playing tricks on Steven... She's my favourite.
 I was watching the series a couple nights ago and decided to tweet "Steven Universe is a strange, weird... but awesome tv show!" I hit send, and thought nothing of it, until....
I didn't think much of the favourite until I read who the person was! Michaela Dietz... the voice of Amethyst! I was so excited! I fangirled!
So if you're a fan of Adventure Time, you should take the time to check out Steven Universe. Rebecca Sugar wrote most of the Marceline episodes, so she really knows how to write awesome women... plus Steven himself is sort of adorable!!
Movies, Daft Punk & iOS7
I've been sick
Been off work all week.
Luckily, it isn't Whooping Cough
The doctor said it might be.
So I've been watching movies and tv shows for the last couple of days
These are what I've watched over the last couple days.
I've also been obsession over...
yep
my Daft Punk obsession is back
I have some rather "nsfw" thoughts about these two handsome robots.
not too fussed about what they look like under their masks
they can leave them on!
I'm loving their new album Random Access Memories
especially the songs;
Instant Crush
Within
Beyond
Lose Yourself to Dance
and Get Lucky (but only because I haven't heard it in weeks!)
Daft Punk Spam
Wow
You can really tell who my favourite is!
Guy-Man!
What else have I been up to?
Still haven't managed to move all my stuff out of my dads house yet.
Things keep coming up, like being sick and working etc.
And I would love to have someone to help, but everyone is busy :(
I downloaded iOS7 for my iPhone
and I LOVE IT!
A lot of people don't like it
but they're crazy :)
Have a great weekend :)
Elysium
 I bought these 2 tops from Autograph today.
It's the first time I've paid full price from something at Autograph
BUT I HAD TOO! LOOK AT THEM!
Went and saw Elysium with my mum
I've been waiting for this film for over a year.
Sharlto Copley is one of my favourite actors
In this film he's the BAD GUY
and god is he bad.
and creepy
but so awesome
complete with his native South African accent
and including Afrikaans Lullaby!
 and Barbequing in his underwear!!!
He was just so cool.
The rest of the movie was amazing.
All the rich people live on a giant space station orbiting Earth
and the rest of us are left on Earth in poverty.
It focuses around Max (Matt Damon)
who dreams of living on Elysium
and how he does it.
The special effects are amazing
The story is really good.
I loved it.
Neill Blomkamp is an amazing director.
 Can't wait for more!
Things I Love Thursday
I'm back from my trip to Melbourne & Sydney
My sister Alex and I went.
We went to PAX Australia in Melbourne
Then went to Sydney to do touristy things.
While in Sydney
We went and saw Pacific Rim at IMAX...
and not just any IMAX...
THE BIGGEST IMAX IN THE WORLD!
It was FUCKING Amazing!
Anyway Pacific Rim was amazing!
Guillermo Del Toro has really outdone himself!
I'm not going to review it...
just tell you...
GO SEE IT!
I will say the worst part was...
The Australian accents of the non Australians playing Australian
(I don't know why they didn't just hire Australians)
But after awhile you forget about it.
THE BEST THING!
Well 2 things actually
where these two...
they are Hermann Gottlieb & Newt Geiszler
and they are the funniest and best part of the movie!
and yes... I SHIP THEM!
They need their own spin off show
or this...
THIS NEEDS TO HAPPEN!
Watch the TRAILER
You may have also noticed that I'm changed my background to my blog.
you like?
I watched The Host last night
I went into it with very low expectations (cos of the whole Stephanie Meyers/Twilight thing)
but I was pleasantly surprised!
It was good!!
 plus I could perve on Jake Abel (right)
It also led me to a new band!
Imagine Dragons.
Their song Radioactive is used in the credits.
I've actually heard heaps of the songs in the past.
In Glee, and on movie trailers etc.
I downloaded their album
Night Visions
I also ordered some clothes from ASOS!
I really shouldn't be allowed on that site!
That's right!
I ordered a comic book print dress!
So freaking excited!
Hopefully it will fit!
$35 with free shipping
I'm not going to complain!
order yours HERE!
That's it for this Thursday.
Next Monday I start my new job in Childcare
So I will have less time to blog etc
So I need to come up with a blogging timetable or something.
We will see!
bye-ee
Number of minutes played during last session of Skyrim - 240! what's that!? 4 hours!
Number of half finished blog posts in my drafts - 6 (and probably this one. if it's not July 14th when i post this.... i drafted it!!)
Adventure Time is amazing.
People just don't get it.
You either do or you don't.
But the people that don't just don't understand how the people that do, do :)
HAHA
I'm currently downloading FEZ.
It's a game I've been waiting to play for AGES!
And it's finally available on PC.
HERE'S SOME MORE THINGS I'M LOVING RIGHT NOW!
Bob's Burgers
I'm watching it slowly.
Not sure if I like it yet.
I'm 3 episodes in.
I LOVE TINA!
Nikolaj Coster-Waldau
aka Jamie Lannister
He's so handsome, and funny (not as Jamie... well yeah!)
I wish Jamie wasn't madly in love with his sister
and fell in love with Brienne of Tarth... I ship that!
The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim
It's amazing!
I don't care what anyone says!
I'm getting hours of enjoyment from it.
Anyway! Time to play FEZ!
Current Obsession - Cooking Shows
The only thing I've watched in the last week has been cooking shows.
I'm obsessed.
I love cooking shows.
I'm going to tell you about some of my favourite!
It's a perfect post to go with my Dream Kitchen post from yesterday!
This post contains spoilers. YES! Cooking shows sometimes have SPOILERS!
The Great British Bake-Off
The Australian version has been advertised on TV since before Easter and it's still not been on.
Mum was wondering when it was on and found out that there's an UK version (as well as a US, Norwegian, French, Italian etc.)
So she "acquired" it.
I watched the whole first season in one sitting
mind you, there was only 6 episodes.
And was so happy with who one.
Edd Kimber was my favourite from the beginning.
I ordered his first cookbook "The Boy Who Bakes" a week ago
and I'm Impatiently waiting for it to show up.
check out his blog and youtube.
Season 2 was good. I didn't find myself enjoying it as much.
I've watched it in the background while I was studying.
So I don't remember much.
But that's good, because I can re-watch it!
Then there's The Great Comic Relief Bake-Off.
4 Special episodes featuring UK Celebrities.
I didn't recognise!
But I did recognise a few, like....
mothertrucking
Warwick Davies
and not only that! He won!
He's a really good baker.
There's a third season
but I haven't been able to find it.
Lorraine Pascale
Lorraine is a former supermodel (isn't it obvious) who is now a chef.
I love her show.
She makes easy, quick, yummy food.
I haven't got any of her books yet.
I pretty much just have the TV on when I want to make something of hers.
She makes a Chocolate Oreo Brownie to die for!
Or die of.... I don't remember!
Nigella Lawson
She was my first inspiration to cook and bake for fun (other than my mother)
She's so beautiful and confident
and isn't afraid of butter :)
I love watching her show.
I have one of her books, but find the recipes very long.
Honourable (TV) Mentions
less of a cooking show and more of a mindf&$%
watching Heston make food is amazing!
I would never be able to do anything like that
He truly is a magician!
YOUTUBE.
Youtube really is amazing!
You can pretty much find anything.
Including cooking shows.
My favourite, without question is
Sorted Food
Mike, Ben, Barry & Jamie
4 English Guys (actually everyone I've mentioned today is English!)
Who want to teach people who can't cook to cook!
And if they can do it. Anyone can.
Not only is there yummy food and hot guys,
they're also a laugh!
They have one cookbook out (which I have)
and are about to release a new ebook in parts starting July
Honourable (Youtube) Mentions.
Adorable geek girl makes geeky inspired treats!
Japanese home cooked goodness
yummy food and pretty Bento
Hope you enjoyed this post.
I am going to try and compile a list of links
to my favourite cooks, chefs & bakers.
As well as my favourite cooking blogs.
