Things I Love Thursday

It's finally here. The first Star Trek Into Darkness trailer. It's very Benedict Cumberbatch-centric.

No words can describe how I feel right now! Still no word on who Benedict Cumberbatch is playing, but my mum (and myself) think he is definitely Khan! Which would be freaking awesome.... but (SPOILERS) may mean that Spock may or may not die in this film! (END OF SPOILERS)

Lego Lord of the Rings for 3DS - It's so good. I was worried that it wouldn't be good, but it is. There are funny little cut screens, and it's used the voices and music from the films.

I bought it yesterday and have already made it to the second film. There are a few things that have annoyed me (but then I realised it was a children's game) ie Boromir was killed with a "Banana" and not a shitload of arrows! Hearing Boromirs voice makes me sad :( I miss Boromir.

When Fandoms Collide!

My favourite Sherlock (and cheekbones :D) , Benedict Cumberbatch, has been cast in the next Star Trek movie, due for release May 2013. This is not a rumour, it's true and comfirmed by JJ Abrams and Benedict himself. There is no official word of who Benedict will play, but the rumours are that he has been cast as the main villain.

I wonder if his character will be new to the Star Trek franchise or if he'll play a character from the original series. As much as I love The Wrath Of Khan, I really don't want Benedict to be cast as Khan. I can't see it. Benico Del Toro (who was previous cast as Khan but dropped out) would of been PERFECT as Khan, but Benedict needs to be an evil Vulcan or something :)

I'm so excited of the prospects of seeing Karl Urban and Benedict in the same film... and then photos of them at the premieres. Benedict is going to become very popular, very fast. :) His short role in War Horse was amazing, complete with Military uniform and moustache :) plus we all have his roles (yes, more than one) in The Hobbit, as Smaug (the dragon) and The Necromancer (ie Sauron).

You should of seen me this morning when I saw the news. WHEN FANDOMS COLLIDE! It was beyond epic. I raced into my sisters room (who loves Benedict more than me) and woke her up to tell her. I don't think she really got it, because when she got up and I was talking to her about it, it hit her. I pretty much told anyone that would listen :)

Now if only May 2013 would hurry up.

I was trawling Mr X Stitch when I came across this...

... and I knew I needed it. I followed the links and found Andy Rash's iotacons blog. FULL of other awesome and geeky iotacons. I could die, It's awesome geeky cross stitch pattern overload :) There are no colours for threads, but it's not hard to figure it out for yourself.

So far I have completed, Kirk & Spock and have begun Bones. I'm thinking of having the text "Space, the final frontier" instead of "Live long and prosper"

The site is full of awesomeness, and since the last post was yesterday, hopefully there will be some more soon :) I think some Doctor Who ones are in order :)

I will update you on the progress of my cross-stitch as it becomes more awesome.

Ch... Ch... Ch... Changes

this post is brought to you by "Changes by David Bowie" because no matter how hard you try, you'll never be as cool (or as awesome) as BOWIE!

I don't know how many of you have noticed, but a few changes are happening with my blog. I've decided that I was done with getting lost, and it was time to start acting more like myself.... a Princess, and of course, a Geek.
Things that have changed (for all you that read my blog through Google Reader, or RSS feeds):

• New Banner.
• New Layout.
• and most importantly (and excitedly) new URL, and not just any URL, a custom one. You are now visitors to http://www.theprincessandthegeek.com. No more ".blogspot.com" and smooth sailing from here on in.

Today I decided to change. Everything. The way I think, the way I write, how I communicate with others, and of course my physical appearance, I'm done being stuck in the body, and since science hasn't come up with a way of transmitting all my memories and awesomeness into another body, I'm going to have to change this one. Stupid science, they can take photos of the Big Bang, but not create away for me to be transmitted into Agyness Deyns' body.  BASTARDS!

 So these changes, come with a couple of Mid-Year Resolutions. Or new years resolution for all you Accounting types out there. And here they are:

• be more social (online and offline) in other words, when your friends invite you out, don't make up some excuse not to go, then spend the night watching Star Trek or Spongebob.
• Comments more. Because the more I comment, the chance of more traffic to my blog increases, because I will always check out the blogs of people that comment on my friends blog.
• stop facebook stalking people you don't like, because it always ends in emo-ness.
• Scribble more & stop buying Notebook (i need to use the ones I have first)
• ORGANISE. BUDGET. REPEAT!
• and last but not least.... EXERCISE goddammit!
• oh yeah, and create a machine that will transmit my memories and awesomeness into Agyness (see above)

I'm also, going to stop posting a hundred million times a day (unless you like me posting lots (let me know)) and maybe post some more photos & the aforementioned scribbles. I tried the 365 photo project, but it lasts like 5 days and I forget about it. (GOD I'M TALKATIVE TONIGHT)
Anyway, enough rambling. I'm going to leave you with something NICE, and by nice, I mean hot, and by hot, I mean dirty, and by dirty, I mean SEXY. *girly squee*

One of the baby quails died last night. =( he was the same one that almost drowned the first night and was found outside the cage the night after, both times he had to be saved using a hair dryer. But this time we weren't there with the hair dryer to save him. =(

Now we have 7 baby Quails. And here are some photos...

This is Butterball, the only one with a name so far, because he's the only one that we can tell apart. Because he's a lighter colour to the others.
