December Daily - Day 09 - 80 Days

I'm sick today.
I went to work and lasted an hour.
I just felt nauseous and dizzy.
It's probably related to lack of water... but hopefully it's just a cold or something.
I've spent the last couple of hours in front go the TV playing 80 Days on my iPhone.
It's a steampunk choose your own adventure game, passed on Around The World In 80 Days.
It was a great game. It did have a lot of text... I did a TL;DR version, where I just skipped most of the text (I probably missed most of the story)
You play as Passepartout, and your job is to successfully get Fogg around the world in 80 Days, without killing him (Fogg, not yourself) and losing all your money.
There are heaps of different outcomes... it's fabulous... I got proposed to in Sweden (then robbed), arrested in Russia, and kissed a male mardi gras participant in New Orleans! (which according to my itinerary.... was Death!) I finished my first journey in 67 days!
I can't wait to play again and head down a different route. I can see multiple play-throughs of this game!
If you have a chance to play this game, give it a go! It's available on the Apple Store, and will be available for Android soon!
What a wonderful way to spend a sick day! Now I wish I would feel better!!

December Daily - Day 01

The goal: To post everyday in December!
Will I do it? Probably not... but I'm going to try!

It's like Christmas has come early!
I've lost a total of 30kg since August 28th...
I received my first physical Kickstarter reward... the Hard Work notebook by Hundred Million... and;
my iPhone 6 Plus arrived... 3 weeks early!!
Look at the size difference (iPhone 5)! It's so shiny and new... and I'm terrified I will break it!!! I have named him (I like to name inanimate objects) "Montaro" which means "Big Boy" in Japanese.

See you tomorrow!

Mini Update

I seriously missed my iPhone 5 delivery man by minutes!
I left for work at 11.28am and the delivery slip says 11.35am.
It means that my (yet unnamed) iPhone 5 is sitting at the post office!
Going to go and get it before TAFE tomorrow morning.
Then at lunch I will come home and activate it.
Then go to work and not show anyone because it won't have a cover.
Unless I can buy a cover for it somewhere tomorrow.
Then come home and play!!!

Had the big prac meeting tonight.
For all those not regular readers, I'm going prac for TAFE at PCYC doing Vacation Care.
I was freaking out about my resource sheets and risk assessments not being good enough.
But according to my supervisor they're fine!!

So iPhone 5 tomorrow!
So freaking excited!

I ordered a cover off eBay, just a clear one :D
Next week I start prac, so I probably won't post much.
My roster is CRAZY!

I really need to sort out my post labels! There are sooooo many!

I Like Jeremy Irons Voice.

Another late night spent procrastinating instead of doing homework.

My little sister started blogging again. She writes heaps! I don't know how she does it! :D You should read it. She talks about me heaps :D

I bought an eBook reader today.
Sony eReader PRS-T2, it's so pretty.
I'm hoping it will get me reading again.
The books I've been trying to read are really big (ie GAME OF THRONES!) and I have this habit of falling asleep and dropping the book on my nose!
So eReader = light = no broken noses.

New iPhone been announced!
iPhone 5
And guess whose getting one?
ME!

I have started 2 new hobbies.
Gardening.
I have 2 mint plants, and currently growing chives and basil from seeds. I'm planning on getting some above grown planters and growing some vegetables, and hopefully getting some chickens!

My other hobby is a little more nerdy.
Birdwatching.
I bought a Birdwatching Field Guide for Australia, and a pocket sized Moleskine notebook to record my sightings.
I was inspired to start Birdwatching after watching The Big Year, with Jack Black, Owen Wilson and Steve Martin in it. It was a great movie :D

Movies have been inspiring me a lot recently.
Maybe because of my "fragile" emotional state.
I watched The Way.
I have decided to, one day, to do The Way Of St James.
It's over 700km through the north of Spain.
But I will do it! One day, before I'm 35!

RIP Steve Jobs

You have probably heard, but Steve Jobs former CEO of Apple has died.

It's very sad, because he was a true visionary. People would argue the point with me, but who else in this world was able to create something that nearly every single person would want? I work in an area that sells Apple iPods and I sell at least one a day! Every person I know, has at least one Apple product, or at least knows of Apple. I'm a recent convert from PC to Apple, and I'll never look back.

Last night my dad asked me to google Steve Jobs and see if he was getting better. I wasn't able to find anything, mostly blogs bitching about how he wasn't at the announcement of the iPhone 4S, WELL NOW YOU KNOW WHY!

I really loved this simple dedication they did to Steve on the Apple site. (don't mind my awesome Pokemon wallpaper (even if it does make it hard to find anything on my desktop))

I also did my own dedication.
I actually had the idea to do this last night, but never got around to it. So I did it this morning after I heard the news. Steve Jobs will watch over my village :) Hopefully a creeper won't blow him up.

Rest In Peace Steve Jobs.

"I so should blog about that"

It's been awhile. I always seem to be saying that recently. I guess, honestly, I've just come to a point were I'm just not excited to be blogging, and the stuff that I really want to say, probably shouldn't be plastered all over the internet for everyone to read. I'm uninspired and boring :)

But in saying that, I had freak moments of true inspiration and awesomeness, and even think to myself "I so should blog about that" but forget almost as suddenly as the inspiration came in the first place.

I went and saw Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. It was awesome. I loved it. But no matter how awesome it is, my favourite POTC character is still Lord Cutler Beckett (yeah I know, I have a thing for the bad guys)

I've also upgraded my iPhone 3GS to an iPhone 4. I haven't received my new phone yet, but I'm hoping that it will show up next week sometime.

I'm saving up to go to New Zealand. We (as in Alex & I) have almost got the road trip part organised, and let me say, the map on my wall is full of pins.

SUPANOVA is soon. EXCITED about meeting Tom Felton and James Marsters, not excited about all the people.

Don't really have much to say.

feel free to ask me questions :)

Here's some more images of Cutler Beckett :)

You know you love me :)

EMMA INVASION COMING SOON!

it's 10.41am. Emmas' bus gets in at 3pm and the house is still a mess! I'm the only one home today, so I can't even talk anyone else into helping me clean =( hahahaha

in other news. it's June 21st. The release date for the brand new (extra awesome) iOS 4 software for my iPhone. Problem is, it's not released until June 21 10am PST. It's currently June 20 7pm PST, which means I still have to wait 15 hours to get it =( stupid time zones. I want my iPhone to have folders and multitasking and camera zoom and home screen backgrounds now!!!

iphone blogging is the only thing that works

nothing works.
only blogpress on my phone.
it's because of the slow internet.
i can't use facebook, i can't use twitter.
practically using the net on my computer is a no go area.
grrrr.... i can't wait until april 11.

by the way
my sister Alex just taught my Cockatiel, Slarti how to hang upside down from her finger.
it's so cute.
And before you ask Slarti is short for Slartibartfast... confused? well you obviously haven't read The Hitchhikers Guide to The Galaxy.
The other Cockatiel is called Trilli (short for Trillian) and my first Cockatiel was named Zaphod.

I survived Cabin Fever

I survived Cabin Fever. It wasn't even that scary, or even that gruesome. I spent all that time worrying about the way I'd react, and after it was finished I was like "oh is that it?" But I wasn't disappointed... well I was a little. You see I rented the DVD from work, and before I brought it home I'm cleaned it to get rid of the scratches... and it didn't work. And guess what scene was the only scene it jumped at??? the scene with ELI ROTH in it. I was so disappointed, he was the only reason I watched the movie in the first place and I missed the scene, GAH!
I loved the Making Of. Eli is awesome... and his dad's name is SHELDON. tehehe. AWESOME. It was a good movie. I gives it 3 ♥'s.

Can anyone send me a copy of Nylon Guys September 2009 with the Eli Roth and BJ Novak interview? I have the photos from the interview, but not the interview. I looked online and couldn't find it. I even checked [info]operation_kino , but still no luck :(

[info]rachkitty  gave me an idea. do you want to see what my current iPhone wallpaper is? you don't? well I don't care cos I'm posting it anyway.
iPhone Wallpaper
don't act so surprised. Of course it's a picture of Eli Roth. You all know me so well :P

and this is the reason why I want to be a photographer...
Photobucket
...too watch sexy men destroy stuff :D

That's Like a B- right?

78%How Addicted to Blogging Are You?

I promised the quiz that I would blog about my result... so here I am. 78% addicted to blogging.

I'm currently waiting for the new iPhone update (3.1) to download. It's one of the only things that annoys me about the iPhone... the 300+ Mb updates. This is my 5th attempt at downloading it, because everytime something happens.... Dad turns the power off, mum trips over the internet cord, iTunes decides it hates me... so hopefully (fingers crossed, knock on wood) it works!!!

I started the new Dan Brown book a couple of days ago.... and I'm having trouble putting it down. I got into bed at 11pm last night and then read, when I looked at the clock it was 3am. Stupid Dan Brown and his short chapters and cliff hangers at the end of chapters, but the next chapter is about someone else in the story and so on. =( But it's a excellent story so far.

In 2 weeks time I will be in Hobart, Tasmania. Probably asleep because our plane leaves at 11pm Thursday, we fly for 3 hours and arrive in Melbourne at 5am, then fly to Hobart at 7am. I don't know how my body is going to go travelling over timezones. I've never done it before.... and on the Sunday we're in Tasmania they change to Daylight Savings so we have to change our clocks, and then on Monday when we fly back to Melbourne (who is in the same timezone, but doesn't start dayloght savings until November) we have to change our clocks again. I'm hoping my iPhone is smart enough to figure it out for himself. The trip is going to be awesome. We're going to Salamanca Markets which (I think) is the biggest weekly market in Australia (i think.... I;m not sure and too slack to check.... but now that I think about it, I don't think it is) but it is definatly bigger than any other markets I've been too. I'm going to be on the lookout for a vintage leather messanger bag, and just cool interesting quirky antiques that will go well in my room (when I finally finish it)

Anyway that's all for today. I'm really busy over the next week so you might not here from me for a while.

Good & Bad World

my world is good (and bad) at the moment.
I'm happy and content, but also slightly sad. But I don't want to get into the negative stuff because it makes me feel worse. So lets talk about positive stuff.
Like my new iPhone. Well technically I don't have it yet. I have to wait up to 2 weeks for it. But it's still exciting.
and do you know what else is positive????

scan0001
thats me and my sister with Karl Urban. I look pretty spazz, but I don't care because it's KARL URBAN

How awesome is that?
Let's think. what else is awesome. The fact that Captain Jack, Gwen and Ianto are on this weeks tv guide cover. =D
and.... I'm half way though watching The Lord of The Rings trilogy again (the extended version)

I have new perfume. Vera Wang Rock Princess. It's awesome. it smells nicer than normal Vera Wang Princess. and the lovely girl at Myer gave me free perfume samples.

I'm not feeling big into this "blog" thing at the moment.

iPhone

UnlockedImage by Johnsyweb via Flickr

So I'm trying to decide if I want the new iPhone (iPhone 3GS)
Through Virgin Mobile, I can get a white 16GB model for $78 a month for 24 months. That includes $520 worth of credit (etc.) 1GB of data a month and free text and calls to any other Virgin phones.
I already pay $62 a month for my current phone. So it's an extra $16 a month, but I get more credit (I get $150 currently) and I get more data (I get none now). So it doesn't seem like a bad idea. I don't need the 32GB model because I already have a 32GB iPod touch (and an 80GB ipod Video) and I'm not fussed about the downgrade of camera (iPhone has 3megapixels and my current Nokia is 5megapixel) because I have a digital camera.
Isn't it funny that a year ago everyone wanted one gadget to do all, now we're back to having several gadgets.

Okay so I think I've talked myself into a new iPhone. Now all I have to ring Virgin Mobile and figure out how much it will cost me to pay out my old phone, and then see if I can transfer my phone number. Because I love my phone number =D
