Today's Thoughts (In Point Form)

  • Albany (the basterds) is not getting Predators at the cinema, and I AM PISSED! If I wasn't already going to Perth, I would be driving to Perth next weekend just to go to the movies. I've never wanted to see a movie so bad in my life. If we don't get the movie here, I can wait, but lately I've seen DVDs and gone "Fuck, that would of been 1000 times better at the Cinema" so this time I AM NOT MISSING IT!
  • PS. I realize Bastards is spelt (is "Spelt" a word? the spell checker is trying to tell me it's wrong. maybe it's "Spelled") wrong, but that is my homage to Quentin Tarantino.
  • I can't wait to have a shower tonight. I bought some Mint & Tea Tree Shower Gel, that smells AMAZING!!! I'm going to make the whole bathroom smell minty.
  • Bought The Big Bang Theory Season 2 for $15 @ Kmart.
  • Helped mum cook dinner, decided to find out what raw garlic tastes like, and now every time I burp I taste garlic. FML.
  • Watched 3 movies in the last 2 days. Leon The Professional with Gary Oldman, Lost In Space with Gary Oldman and Air Force One with (you guessed it) Gary Oldman.
  • Time to finish dinner. Sorry for such a random post.

Day 02 — Your favourite movie

This is easy...

Labyrinth. Made in 1986, and featuring Jennifer Connelly as Sarah and David Bowie as Jareth the Goblin King. It's Directed by the late great Jim Henson (The Muppets) Produce by George Lucas (yes Star Wars George Lucas), Screenplay by Terry Jones (from Monty Python) and the Original Concept os by one of my favourite artists of all time Brian Froud. It's an amazing fantasy story about a girl whose baby brother is stolen by the Goblin King and she has 13 hours to travel through the labyrinth to the castle at the centre to rescue her brother. Along the way she meets a variety of different characters - good, bad and indifferent - including Hoggle and giat monster Ludo (I love Ludo). The soundtrack is amazing. Including original songs by David Bowie (Within Me, Magic Dance, As The World Falls Down) and it's where my love for David Bowie started.

Things I Love Thursday

  • Babar (you know the elephant?) Today I watched one of the few episodes I remembered. The Phantom of the Opera one. It was EPIC.
  • Kratt Brothers. 2 Brothers from America, who have a nature tv series called Be The Creature, where each episode they are with a different type of creature and try and see if they could survive as them. It's really funny, it's a teen-young adult series, that's on ABC3 at 11.15am every weekday. I haven't been able to find the DVDs so I may have to download it.
  • Bands I Love: 30 Seconds To Mars (for obvious reasons), There For Tomorrow (new band I only discovered yesterday. They are going to be at Soundwave next year, so I downloaded their album, and they're good, if you like pop/emo music)
  • Bored To Death. Jason Schwartzman & Zach Galifianakis. I also like Ted Danson as Jonathon (Jason Schwartzman) pot smoking, ladies man boss.
  • NZ trip. Next October (2011) I'm going to New Zealand. I have decided. Either on my own, or with dad. it's all just talk at the moment, but I'm thinking 3 weeks will be enough time.
  • TAX IS DONE!
  • Work Colleagues that read my blog (Hi Guys!) I will try and not bitch about you much =D
  • Gala Darling. I have rediscovered my love for this women. Next pay I might shell out and purchase a subscription to Love & Sequins

Moleskine vs. Filofax

First off I'm going to say, ever since I found Gala Darling (I don't remember when) she has influenced me. That's why, for the last 2 years I've been using a Moleskine Planner, in 2009 it was a hard cover black daily planner, this year I'm using a soft cover weekly notes planner. After this year, I've decided to go back to a daily planner, because I like having the day on a whole page, it means I have more room to scribble all the important (and unimportant) things. But I have recently read, that Gala has moved on to Filofax. I had a Filofax, it was sky blue and huge, it was very bulky, but it was one that I had purchased in town, and I didn't know there was so many different types to choose from. Like these two:

Moleskine's are expensive, but these Filofax are even more so. But you can reuse a Filofax every year, but with my style and likes changing regularly I don't want to be stuck with something expensive that I'll use once and then put in a box somewhere (like my sky blue Filofax)
Maybe I should find my old one and give it another try.
But sitting here and thinking. I'll probably end up with a new Moleskine Daily Planner, maybe this time in Red.
Now I'm going to watch Bored To Death.
mmm... Jason Schwartzman.

Edit - July 14th
When I get paid I'm going to order a 2011 Red Moleskine Daily
They're on sale at Fishpond.com.au
Hopefully they will still be on sale.
