Wednesday Wishlist

1 / 2 & 2 / 3 & 3 / 4

Mokuyobi Threads has some beautiful iron-on patches! I would love them all, but the 3 pictured above are may favourite! And they're only $AU6 each!

Not that I need any new T-Shirts in my collection. I'm yet to add a My Little Pony tee to me collection. We Love Fine have such an amazing range of tees and merchandise across so many fandoms, including Star Trek, Bravest Warriors and even Sesame Street.
I also feel the need to represent my love of Hat Films, the crazy English Trio who play video games and just generally be silly and awesome!

More Pop! Vinyl figures... This time, in honour of Game Of Thrones Season 4, The Hound and Brienne of Tarth! 2 of my favourite GoT characters!

I am yet to find a leather messenger bag that I love at a reasonable price. Even this one is too much, but I love the design! Ever since watching Criminal Minds all those years ago and seeing Dr. Spencer Reid with his leather bag... I knew I wanted one... but not yet, one day!

What's on your wishlist this week? Let me know in the comments!

8 Bit Heart Cross Stitch Journaling Card

I have collected a lot of hobbies over the years; jewellery making, cross-stitch, scrapbooking. As I move from one to another, it all gets stored away, with the chance it will never be used again.
Last night, while trawling the internet for scrapbooking inspiration (my "current" hobby) I came across the idea of sewing paper! What a wonderful idea! Then I found... cross-stitching on paper! WOAH! You mean I can combine two hobbies? I don't believe you, but I will give it a try.
It was successful, so I decided to do a quick how-to post.

May I present for first attempt of combining Cross-Stitch and Scrapbooking...

♥  8 Bit Heart Journaling Card! ♥
First, you need to decide what design you're going to use, you could use any cross-stitch pattern, or I googled "8 Bit Heart" and found this:
Note: The more difficult the design, the more holes you will need to punch (and trust me... punching holes is very tedious, and a little painful... (more on that later!))

Figure out the dimensions of the design. It this case, the widest part of the heart is 9 pixel, and the height is 8 pixels.

Gather your supplies!
♥  Card*, in appropriate size (depending on the size you want each pixel to be. I used Project Life 3x4in Journaling Card in Grid.
♥  Pin (for the punching. I used a needle (but it's very hard to push a needle through the paper with stabbing your fingers... OUCH!) A drawing pin, or dress makers pin will be prefect!
♥  Craft Mat (or I used my mouse pad) to put under the design while you're punching! TRUST ME! It makes it heaps easier)
♥  Needle (for the sewing. I used a Size 25 Cross-Stitch Needle)
♥  Thread... what ever colour you want! (even wool could work, but you will have to punch bigger holes, and use a bigger needle)
♥  Scissors.
*I recommend card, paper would easily rip. I also used grid pattern, but you could use plain or patterned, you just need to draw a grid pattern on the back (or glue a bit of grid paper on the back)

Once you have your supplies, draw the design on the back. Remember to reverse letters etc.
Very rough drawing... but it's all you need!

Then punch, every corner of the grid within the design. It takes awhile. DON'T USE a NEEDLE, your fingers will pinned, it it hurts! Just a pin with a nice big head, makes it heaps easier to push the pin through... and don't forget the mat underneath, the thicker, the better!
Once you have finished punching the holes (which I didn't in these photos, because I was already finished :P) It's time for the fun part!

The sewing. ♥ ♥ ♥
I didn't have any black cross-stitch thread left, so I just used thread from my sisters sewing machine (I just used two threads at once. I also only used 2 threads from the red. That's DMC 321.
You don't have to use a cross-stitch, you could do whatever you like, once you have punched the holes, anything is possible.

You could sew a simple border around a photo, or go all out and do a huge embroidery piece! The possibilities are endless.

♥  Heres a link to a website to show you how to cross-stitch... I don't really have any way of doing it, as long as the crosses are on the front... it's pretty much it! I'm not too fussed on how it looks on the other side.

The good thing about using paper, is when you're finished you can just sticky tape the back, to hold the threads in place!

♥  The finished product! ♥

Hope you enjoyed my tutorial. It's my first, but hopefully not last... Let me know what you think in the comments. Thank you for reading.

Molly Is...

... on the internet looking at scrapbooking supplies. I have discovered Project Life and have been inspired to do some more scrapbooking/journaling. I love the idea of journalling cards.
It's 1.10am and I'm still looking on the internet for more supplies! I've found heaps of free downloadable journaling cards, now I need to get a printer :)
I will keep you updated on my progress!

Currently...

Waiting for Elder Scrolls Online to update. So I thought I would do a quick [haha, this was not a quick post] post. Similar to my "Currently..." tag, but more in-depth! Sorry if it's TL;DR!

Making: Some mobile phone charms for the Easter Fair at my mums work in 2 weeks.

Cooking: Hoping to cook some mini cupcakes tomorrow. Woolworths sell Popping Candy in their cake baking aisle and I'm excited about decorating my cakes with popping candy!

Drinking: Pepsi Max. Also today I went to Boost Juice and got a Watermelon Crush... my favourite.

Reading: Inferno by Dan Brown, Deadpool Kills Marvel Universe, Ms. Marvel (2014) issue 2. Waiting for a few books to show up. I ordered The Magicians by Lev Grossman, Ready Player One by Ernest Cline & The Hyperbole and A Half book.

Wanting: A little bit more money, just enough to be able to buy a house. I've been looking at houses around town, and in Perth near Emma, there is a house I really loved thats only 500m from Emma, and across the road from a Daycare centre. In a Perfect world, I would work there, and live in the house across the street, and have game nights with Emma and just be awesome!

Looking: At my computer screen. Waiting for ESO to update (power went off, so I had to start from the beginning again)

Playing: ELDER SCROLLS ONLINE, Don't Starve, Minecraft. Waiting for Child of Light to be released, but until then, it will probably be just Elder Scrolls for awhile :D

Deciding: On what race to play in Elder Scrolls. I usually play Wood Elf or Breton, but I bought the Imperial Edition, so I should play Imperial!

Wishing: The all the issues at work to be resolved. Also to be able to travel the world for free, forever!

Enjoying: Watching AmazingPhil on Youtube. Being inspired to blog again, thanks to heaps of other awesome blogs.

Waiting: For ESO update. Ordered books to arrive. Sydney holiday in July!

Liking: Beautiful cold clear mornings! It's scarf weather!!

Wondering: If my car is big enough to bring IKEA products back from Perth!

Loving: Finding new blogs online and being inspired. If you read my blog, and have a blog yourself, let me know. I'm always excited to find new blogs!

Pondering: Sometimes I ponder really deep things, about the universe and my place in it.. but honestly, today it's pretty much which race I will play in Elder Scrolls Online.

Considering: Whether to go to Sydney in July, or somewhere else. Mum and I have been to Sydney before and we thought we could go somewhere else, but we can't really think of anywhere else.

Watching: lots of Youtube (mainly Minecraft related), the new Cosmos series, and season 3 of Game Of Thrones... in time for Season 4! OMG Much Excite!!!

Hoping: It's not cloudy on April 29th! There's a partial solar eclipse in the afternoon. I'm very excited!

Marvelling: At my little sisters awesome skills. She just made an arm knitted scarf and it's AMAZING! So I bought it off her for $15.

Needing: Something yum to eat. Like a piece of cake or a brownie.

Smelling: Dinner (sweet & sour pork) and Foot Powder... (yeah it's a little gross, but better than stinky feet!)

Wearing: Black jeans and pink tee. The clothes I wore to work. Boring!

Following: Lots of people. On Tumblr and Polyvore and Bloglovin'. If I'm not following you, let me know!

Noticing: How much my knee is aching. I did something to it (but can't remember what) and it's very sore tonight. Maybe because of the cold... I'm not sure.

Knowing: That's a freaky movie. Nicholas Cage!

Thinking: My brain is pretty crazy. Been eating lollipops all day, so sugar rush!

Feeling: Like this was not a "quick post"! But, hey, I'm still waiting for ESO to update... 2 hours later!

Admiring: People with body confidence. I wish I had some... but don't. But in saying that, I'm definitely more comfortable in my body now, then I was a few years ago.

Sorting: The mess on my desk... well it's what I should be sorting... but I'll just let it sit there for awhile.

Buying: Books... mostly on fishpond.com.au. Also hoping to buy some leggings tomorrow. Also spending money on video games. The people at work don't understand it, and mock me... obviously they've never worked with a geek before.

Getting: Bored... waiting for update.

Bookmarking: Mostly recipes and interesting news/sites to use in future blog posts.

Disliking: The tension at work. I wish it was over. Election ads on Youtube and the TV and EVERYWHERE!

Opening: Did an unboxing of The Elder Scrolls Online Imperial Edition, but I forgot to hit record on my camera! DOH!

Giggling: Listening to Yogscast parody songs like Best Friends and Sad For Good!

Snacking: Nothing at the moment. Just drinking Pepsi Max. There is an empty packet of Butternut Snaps on my desk!!!

Coveting: Dresses... I want all the pretty dresses! and leggings! I wish I was small enough to fit into all the Black Milk stuff! GAH! I love it!

Helping: Mum with a sausage sizzle tomorrow

Hearing: About My Sorrows by Negative. A sad song from my emo/goth past. But I seem to love it again! It's a beautiful song!

Wow! What a post! I thought it was going to be quick! HA, I was wrong. 2 hours later and it's done... but the update isn't. Have a great weekend everyone.

Things I Love Thursday - Goats & Dragons!

Short and sweet today! Some very interesting links for you, and a very very funny video!

Jesse Cox plays Goat Simulator - Of all the Goat Simulator play-throughs I've seen... This is the best! I can't wait for the chance to play this game myself!

How to start a journal - and keep it up - I suck at keeping a journal. This is pretty handy, and it's written by Keri Smith, the author of Wreck This Journal and other fun books that you develop anxieties over because you have to wreck them... (or is that just me?)

36 Entirely Scientific Reasons to Love Brian Cox - if you need scientific proof to love him... I don't, he just has to talk nerdy to me!

36 Ways to DIY Every part of your Life - A list of lists. Some very awesome lists including 46 Penny-Pinching Ways to Dave Money, Wedding ideas and DIYs your Pet will love.

Awesome Books to Replace Your Favourite Cancelled TV Shows - Favourite TV show was cancelled... can't live without it... re-runs are starting to get a little tedious... why not try a book with similar themes and plots!?

Loot Crate has announced that the theme for the April Loot Crate will be Dragons, and it will include exclusive loot from Game of Thrones and Elder Scrolls Online. Much Excite!!!

It's Elder Scrolls Online day tomorrow! I'm so excited! I got a text today saying I can pick it up tomorrow. Very EXCITED!!

Honourable Mentions
♥ writing packing lists ♥ making cookies ♥ 2nd hand book stores ♥ The Internship [particularly Josh Gad] ♥ lonely planet guide books ♥ Google Maps Pokemon Search! [I'm not even a fan of Pokemon] ♥ April Fools jokes online! ♥ A Great Big Worlds debut album Is There Anybody Out There? (in particular the songs You'll Be Okay and Everyone Is Gay)

Wednesday Wishlist by princessgeek86

1 / 2 & 2 / 3 / 4 / 5

I'm borrowed another prompt from another blog. Wednesday Wishlist. There is a lot of things in the world that I want, so here's a few to share with you.

I'm starting to get more and more into fashion. I'm loving all the simple dresses available at ASOS, especially the skater cut ones. I have quite a few dresses now, and need to get myself some more tights, just in time for winter.

I love silly books, especially about silly subjects, like how to make your cat famous. I'm hoping that next pay day I will have enough money spare (after bills) to purchase it. I need to save some money, so I can go to Perth and go to IKEA!

I've only ever used one Lush product, and that was their Goth Juice. It was amazing. I'm not big into wearing makeup and styling my hair (hence the pixie cut) but I love the idea of Bubblegum Lip Scrub and solid perfume would be excellent to chuck in my bag, especially for work (working with children can be stinky work)

Judge Dredd - I have a few Pop! Vinyl figures, but my collection will not be complete until I have Dredd. Played by Karl Urban in the recent re-boot, it's the ultimate piece for my collection... Karl Urban and Pop! Vinyl.

What's on your wishlist? Leave a comment and let me know!

March Recap

March!

I did a mini re-design of my blog. Added the sidebar back and filled it with awesome information. I also started updating my About Me page [planning on updating the others soon!]

This month was a little light on posts, but that is hopefully going to change in April. The plan is 3 posts a week. One on Mon/Tues, Things I Love Thursday and one on the weekend. Hopefully becoming more as I get some ideas out of my head :)

♥ I discovered the awesomeness that is Steven Universe!

♥ Rent Inspection = Clean Room = Bedroom Tour!!

♥ If The Princess & The Geek was an outfit!

♥ Signed up for A Beautiful Mess' online 52 Weeks of Art Journalling and was inspired (if only for a week or two)

♥ I went searching for a book [The Magicians by Lev Grossman] but failed :(

Blogs & Posts I Loved!

♥ How To Be A Happy Blogger [via Scathingly Brilliant]

♥ Nerd Burger! Awesome Melbourne geek with bright hair, Disney tattoos and awesome collection of 80s & 90s toys!!

♥ NerdJoy! Helped me rediscover Steven Universe, she does awesome nail art, shows off her awesome fashion, and she's an awesome geek girl! FOLLOW HER!!

Music I Love

♥ Fake Your Death by My Chemical Romance - I was so excited when I saw this song show up on my iTunes! It's the only new song on My Chemical Romances new "Best Of" album [May Death Never Stop You], and it's AMAZING! It's more Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge and The Black Parade grown up... and less Danger Days [didn't really like Danger Days much]

♥ A Great Big World - I discovered this band by chance, while surfing the iTunes store. I had no idea that they performed a song with Christina Aguilera [Say Something]. Their album, Is There Anybody Out There? is a mixture of sad songs, songs to inspire and silly pop songs [including my favourite new "Happy" song Everyone Is Gay]

♥ After years... and I mean years, I finally found a song I had been looking forward. An annoying song, that got stuck in my head every time I heard it, but never managed to figure out the name. Dragonstea Din Tei by O-Zone... or the "Numa Numa Song" and... it's GLORIOUS! I have the English version and it's silly and hilarious, but makes me super happy!

♥ ♥ EXCITED FOR APRIL! ♥ ♥

Elder Scrolls Online out this FRIDAY! I can't wait to get it, and play it [I have played it when it was in Beta... but to play it for real will be amazing] ♥

Game Of Thrones season 4! More Jamie, more Hound... hopefully a dead Joffery [spoilers] ♥

Child Of Light... another game I'm looking forward to. It's out at the end of April. I've pre-ordered the limited edition which comes with some awesome art book, and items! ♥
