NaBloPoMo - Did you say interior design?

urm.... No!

When was the first time that you realized that your home was not like other people’s homes?

I saw this prompt before I start work and all I could think was "Interior Design Post"

My friends always loved my house. It wasn't like there 4x1 single storey brick homes. We had a 2 storey wooden house, with high ceilings and large rooms. We also had a large block with trees and lots of grass. We used to make tree-houses in the 100 year old Mulberry Tree we had in the yard, we'd come up to the house at the end of the day covered it red mulberry stains. I still miss that house. It hasn't even been a year since we moved out, and it's still a bit of a raw subject.

The house I live in now is nice. It's a 4x1 single storey brick house :) but my family is here, and that's what really matters.

But in saying that, I still one day want my own house. The idea of renting scares me, I would much rather own my own house, but the idea of mortgage repayments is scary too. I'm not overly fussed about the type of house, as long as I can make it my own. I would prefer an older weatherboard house with high ceilings, or even an old warehouse space. Everything can be in the same room (well except the bathroom), it can be small and pokey, I really don't care, as long as I can paint when I feel like, hammer as many nails into the walls and not have to worry about spilling stuff on the carpet.

I would love to have a floor to ceiling library so I can but all my books, DVDs and comic book collection.

Maybe an arcade game/pinball machine (or two)

A garage door to paint!

Enough room for a comfy bed

A brightly coloured fridge covered in awesome pictures

A huge sofa covered in cushions

Enough room in the garden for a koi pond. I will probably have a hobbit garden (ie one that never gets cared for and just grows crazy)

In my search for photos for my dream house, I re-found these photos. How awesome is this "apartment"?
I want to live there!
