Christmas Tag

Do you prefer a real Christmas tree or synthetic?
I would love love love to have a real Christmas Tree.
I've never had one.
We have always had a synthetic tree.
For as long as I can remember we had the super fake looking tree
It was probably only 130cm high.
It was a big part of our family memories.
We would put it up on December 1st
then take it down some time before Australia Day (Jan 26th)
But we got rid of it after it lost too many branches.

Then when my parents separated and I moved with dad
the traditions stopped.
Then dad's girlfriend moved in, so last christmas was more her traditions.
This year I'm living with mum
And it's time to start my own!

Yesterday I went and bought my OWN Christmas tree.
One for my mums' house, but I will take it when I move.
It's still in the box, but it means on December 1st we can put it up!

You're in a coffee shop, it's December, what do you pick up?
Pepsi Max
ha
I'm not a big hot drink drinker
plus Christmas is in Summer here
and it's usually 30ºc+

What's your favourite colour scheme for decorating the tree?
Each year we choose a different colour scheme
This year I'm thinking Teal & Silver.

Giving or receiving?
Both.
Admit it, everyone likes presents!
I love giving presents too.
Apparently I'm a good gift buyer.
I especially like giving gifts to children.
:)

To mince pie or not to?
NOT!
Yuck! Can't think of anything worse!
Fly-Pie we call them here.

What's your traditional Sunday lunch?
Roast Meats (Lamb, Pork & Chicken)
Roast Vegetables.
Leg of Ham.
Gravy.
All the trimmings.

Sometimes we have a Barbecue!
Which is nice when it's a hot day.
Get the kiddie pool out
and the sprinkles
(and the water pistols)
It's great!

Christmas day fashion
Probably the girliest
flowery dress I can find.
I spend the day with my family
so I could wear whatever I wanted :)

What's your favourite Christmas song?
O Holy Night
sang by anyone.
But especially the Michael Paynter version

It's beautiful.
I've always loved O Holy Night

What's your favourite Christmas film?
Home Alone & A Nightmare Before Christmas
Not your traditional Lovey-Dovey Miracles films.
I also love
Jingle All The Way

Open presents before or after lunch?
Usually we open presents from mum & dad in the morning
Then at our big family lunches
Presents get opened after lunch, but before dessert
Unless you're my 2 & 4 year old cousins
Then ALL the presents (even ones not for them)
get opened as soon as they're found!

*****

I'm actually pretty excited for Christmas this year.
Hope everyone else is.
I haven't even thought about Christmas shopping
I might just be crafty and make everyones presents this year!
